  • Patent number: 5216932
Abstract: An X-Y drive apparatus includes an X drive unit mounted on a stationary base and a Y drive unit mounted on an X table of the X drive unit. The X drive unit includes a first motor operatively coupled to the X table and a second motor operatively coupled to a splined shaft. A worm gear is mounted on the splined shaft such that the worm gear may move along the splined shaft slidably, but it does not rotate around the splined shaft. The Y drive unit includes a Y table and a ball screw which is operatively coupled to the Y table and which has a worm wheel in mesh with the worm gear.

  • Patent number: 5207115
Abstract: An X-Y drive apparatus suitable for use in positioning an electronic component or the like at a desired position, such as a mounting position of a printed circuit board, is provided. Each of X and Y table units includes an elongated housing provided with a pair of stationary pulleys at its opposite ends and a table provided with a pair of moving pulleys. A pair of brackets is also mounted on the housing, each located between one of the stationary pulleys and a corresponding one of the moving pulleys. A belt, having its one end fixedly attached to one of the brackets, extends first around one of the moving pulleys, then around each of the stationary pulleys, and then around the remaining moving pulleys with its remaining end fixedly attached to the remaining bracket.

  • Patent number: 4916963
Abstract: There is provided a moving table unit having a table which is attached to rectilinear guide devices on both sides of the legs of a substantially U-shaped bed, a first motor unit with a ball screw which is attached to the upper side of the bottom of the bed near an end of the bed in the sliding direction of the bed; a second motor unit with a ball screw which is attached to the lower side of the table near one end of the table; and a ball spline unit attached to the lower side of the table between the motor units and near the other end of the table, wherein these units have the same axial center and are coaxially coupled by a drive shaft on which ball screw grooves and a ball spline groove are formed at the positions corresponding to those units. The outer diameter of the portion of the ball spline shaft on which the ball spline groove is formed is larger than those of the drive shaft on which the ball screw grooves are formed.

  • Patent number: 4897588
Abstract: A double motor feed control system for controlling a relative linear feed motion between two objects, such as a rail and a table of a linear motion rolling contact bearing assembly. The double motor feed control system includes a first motor, a threaded feed shaft driven to rotate by the first motor, and a slider assembly threadably connected to the feed shaft. The slider assembly includes a nut which is fitted onto and in thread engagement with the feed shaft, an inner ring fixedly attached to the nut and provided with a rotor, and a motor housing rotatably supported on the rotor through a pair of ball bearings and provided with a stator in opposite arrangement with the rotor to thereby define a second motor. By controlling the direction of rotation of each of the first and second motors, the feed speed may be selectively set at a fast or slow speed.

  • Patent number: 4763886
Abstract: The XY-positioning table of the present invention includes a base, an X-axis-movable table and a Y-axis-movable table, as well as, X-axis, and Y-axis driving means, attached to said base: where the X-axis-movable table is provided with an X-axis nut to engage with a threaded shaft driven by said X-axis driving means; while in the interior cavity or space of the X-axis-movable table is provided a Y-axis nut capable of engaging with another threaded shaft driven by the Y-axis driving means with auxiliary bearings being provided between the Y-axis nut box and the Y-axis table for effecting X-axis rectilinear-motion, thus realizing a smooth and accurate relative X-Y directional movement between the X-axis and Y-axis movable tables and the bed.
