    Abstract: A rolling bearing unit for a wheel includes an outer ring member having a flange portion formed on its outer periphery and fitted to a vehicle body-side member, an inner ring member rotatably fitted in the outer ring member, and double-row rolling elements arranged between the outer ring member and the inner ring member. The flange portion includes a first flange portion formed on the upper-side portion of the outer periphery, and a second flange portion and a third flange portion formed on the lower-side portion of the outer periphery. Each of the first, second and third flange portion has a bolt-hole used to fit the outer ring member to the vehicle body-side member. The first flange portion is formed in such a manner that the bolt-hole thereof is positioned on the vertical line that passes through the rotational center of the outer ring member.

    Abstract: An evanescent catheter system is provided as a system having a structure of a tip portion of an optical fiber capable of securely measuring a fluorescence intensity or fluorescence spectrum of a substance around a catheter tip, without being hindered by optical absorption of hemoglobin in erythrocytes in blood, and being capable of calculating an existing amount of a fluorescence-emitting substance existing in an evanescent light generating part. A protecting layer 22 and a cladding 23 are removed from an upper semicircular part of a core 24 at a tip of a catheter 21 to expose the core 24. An optical filter 26 and a photodiode 28 are located opposite to a lower semicircular part. When excitation light 29 is incident, evanescent light 25 is generated on the upper semicircular part of the core 24 and a fluorescent substance generates emits fluorescence 30.

    Abstract: A wheel bearing apparatus includes a roller bearing, an inner shaft having an outer circumferential surface to which an inner ring of the roller bearing is installed, a coupler ring attached to an end portion of the inner shaft, and a caulked portion provided in an end portion of the inner shaft so as to fix the coupler ring and the roller bearing to the inner shaft so as to be immovable in an axial direction of the inner shaft. An outer diameter of the coupler ring is set smaller than a diameter of a shoulder portion of the inner ring. Alternatively, a protruding portion is provided in any one of opposing end surfaces of the coupler ring and the inner ring, whereby the coupler ring is arranged away from a seal member. Accordingly, it is possible to avoid an interference of the coupler ring with the seal member.

This arrangement causes the cooling air to be uniformly circulated in the entire reflector (111) of the light source unit (11) without stagnation to regulate the temperature of the arc tube (110) in an easy and costless manner, and enables installation of the light source unit (11) at any angular position, free of angular limitation.

The corresponding switch elements are turned on to connect the off-probe pads under test to the probe pad P0 that is made in contact with the tester probe Pr0, and the leak current of the probes is measured with the tester TS.

    Abstract: It is intended to provide a method of detecting a nucleic acid whereby a target nucleic acid can be accurately and quickly detected at an elevated detection sensitivity compared with the existing methods; and a gene detection kit with the use of this method. A sample containing cells is fixed to a support and nucleic acids are amplified on the support as such. Then, a nucleic acid thus amplified is detected. Since the nucleic acids are not detected from the sample in this method, a lowering in the detection sensitivity due to the nucleic acid loss in the step of extracting the nucleic acids can be prevented. Since the amplified nucleic acid is detected, furthermore, detection can be made even though the nucleic acid is contained only in a trace amount in the sample.

The first and the second drilling members are used to fracture the body tissues, to clean the fractured portion with water, and to suck water used for the cleaning so as to be discharged. The body of the drill unit is rotated to change the drilling position for the fracture in the same way for forming the hole led to the affected portion.
