  • Patent number: 4943444
Abstract: A jelly having flavor and palatability that resemble those of the flesh of fruit, and a process for producing such jelly are disclosed. The jelly has a konjak flour or konjak mannan and fruit juice as main ingredients, and is produced by the steps of heating and cooling an alkaline konjak paste to prepare a konjak jelly, adding the juice of fruit to said konjak jelly, stirring the ingredients to form a mixture, freezing the mixture, and finally thawing the frozen mixture. This jelly has great economic utility, good keeping quality and is anticipated to fully satisfy the various taste preferences of the people of today who have a wide variety of likes and dislikes.

  • Patent number: 4848708
Abstract: A rudder, brake and nose landing gear steering control assembly for an aircraft provides adjustable positioning of the assembly's control pedals relative to the pilot. Pedal adjustment is accomplished by pivoting the entire assembly, which includes pivoting an assembly frame and pedals, and linkage structure carried by the frame. The pedals are moved either nearer or farther to and from a pilot, depending on the length of the pilot's legs.

  • Patent number: 4778133
Abstract: A slider wheel housing assembly 10) is provided for mounting an aircraft pitch and roll control stick or shaft (28) to control panel structure (34) in the aircraft's cockpit. The assembly (10) includes a housing (12) having a pair of parallel guide rails (14, 16) that extend along opposite outside surfaces of the housing (12). Each guide rail (14, 16) laterally projects outwardly away from its respective side of the housing (12). Each rail (14, 16) further has first and second beveled outer surfaces (18, 20) which extend along the length of each rail (14, 16). These surfaces (18, 20) provide running surfaces for a plurality of roller wheels (44, 46, 48, 50) which are rotationally mounted to the control panel structure (34). The wheels (44, 46, 48, 50) and guide rails (14, 16) cooperatively hold the housing (12) in the control panel structure (34) while at the same time permitting the housing (12) to translate back and forth, the direction of translation being defined by the direction of the rails (14, 16).

  • Patent number: 4649484
Abstract: An all-electric powered flight control system for an aircraft incorporating fault-tolerant avionics combined with a redundant power actuation control system utilizing electro-mechanical devices for actuating aerodynamic control surfaces; and wherein, the redundancy is implemented through the division of the total aerodynamic surface area to be actuated into multi-segments, with each control segment having its own channel in the avionic control system. The avionic control system is effective in minimizing the effects of power actuated control loads reacting through aircraft structure by the incorporation of an electronic gain control power module which is positioned between the power output side of an actuator (e.g., an electro-mechanical or electro-hydraulic device) and the aerodynamic control surface or segment being actuated.

  • Patent number: 4591313
Abstract: A plurality of propeller blades are mounted to an axially elongated tubular propeller hub (H1). Each blade is rotatable in position about a radial axis. An electromechanical linear actuator (A1) is housed within the hub for rotating the blades to change their pitch. The actuator includes a rod member (R1) fixed in position relative to the hub, a casing (C1) which can extend and retract relative to the rod member, a rotary electric motor (M1), and a planetary screw drive (SD1). The screw drive (SD1) drivingly interconnects the electric motor (M1) with the casing (C1) for causing the casing to move axially in response to operation of the motor. The actuator (A1) is connected to the propeller (P1) by a linkage (L1) so that movement of the casing causes the propellers to change their pitch. A second actuator (A2) may be housed within the hub (H1) and connected to the first actuator (A1) for providing redundancy in the event of failure of the first actuator.

  • Patent number: 4567786
Abstract: A modular thrust control lever assembly for manual pilot control of the forward/idle/reverse thrust operational modes of multiple engine aircraft and including manually manipulable pilot control levers (24L, 24R) each having a fixed lever portion (69L, 69R) and an integral crank (42L, 42R) mounted about a fixed pivot axis (44) and a radially extendable handle portion (85L, 85R and 26L, 26R) with the fixed pivoted lever portions (69L, 69R) and radially extendable handle portions (85L, 85R) being secured together by a slide assembly (70L, 70R) and a lever assembly (71L, 71R) having a roller (64L, 64R) movable in an arcuate slot (66L, 66R); pivotal inhibit means (48L, 48R, and 49L, 49R) for inhibiting motion of the roller (64L, 64R) within the slot (66L, 66R) when the engines are not properly configured; means (31L, 31 R, 60L, 60R, 58L, 58R, 55L, 55R) for disengaging said inhibit means when the engines are properly configured; a plurality of resolvers (30L, 30R) of opposite hand and disposed at different distanc

  • Patent number: 4041966
Abstract: This invention is directed to an umbrella whereby a person can open the umbrella with one hand and, also, close the umbrella with one hand. There is a spring which urges the umbrella to an open position. In the closed position there is a latching means for preventing movement of the elements of the umbrella so as to maintain the umbrella in the closed position. To open the umbrella the latching means is moved and the spring expands the umbrella to the open position. To close the umbrella a person, with one hand, pulls on a handle so as to move the latching means in a locking position to maintain the umbrella in the closed position.
