Abstract: Provided is a digital cable system and method for protecting a secure micro (SM) client, and more particularly, a digital cable system and method for protecting an SM program that can improve the security of an SM program through authentication of a host and integrity verification of the SM program. A method of protecting an SM program includes: receiving host authentication information associated with a host from a trusted authority; verifying validity of the secure micro program based on the host authentication information; and sending, to an authentication proxy, a HostStateInformation message that includes host state information associated with validity verification information of the SM program.

Abstract: A synchronization apparatus and method for synchronizing playback time of a media provided to multiple devices during service transfer and replication process are provided. The content synchronization system for providing a receiving terminal with content of a sending terminal, the content synchronization system includes the sending terminal; the receiving terminal; and a server configured to provide content to the sending terminal and the receiving terminal and to comprise a communication unit configured to communicate the sending terminal and the receiving terminal and to transmit a message and information about time point at which the message is sent, and a content playback time point calculating unit configured to calculate a first content playback start time point of the receiving terminal in an effort to provide the content of the sending terminal that is synchronized with the receiving terminal.

Abstract: Disclosed are a composite retardation plate, a composite polarizing plate including the same and a method for manufacturing the same. More particularly, a composite retardation plate is prepared by corona or plasma treatment of a face of a liquid crystal coating layer formed on a polymeric base film to improve adhesion therebetween and then directly providing a surface treatment coating layer above the coated film, thus being produced by a simple process without using a glass material while requiring neither an additional base material nor adhesive layer. Therefore, the retardation plate prepared as described above is desirably used as a retarder for a thin-film type display. The present invention also provides a composite polarizing plate including the above retardation plate and a method for manufacturing the foregoing.

When the determined triggering condition overlaps with a triggering condition of an existing registered application, determinations are made whether an intersection between an explicit conflict set of the new application and an explicit conflict set of the existing application exists and whether an intersection between an implicit conflict set of an API of the new application and an implicit conflict set of an API of the existing application exists; and The triggering condition and execution information of the existing application is reported. When either of the intersections exists, a defining of a conflict resolution policy or a changed application triggering condition for the new application is requested; otherwise the triggering condition and the execution information of the new application is stored in an information database.

Abstract: Provided are a method and system for providing a multicast service in a next-generation network (NGN), which can improve the quality-of-service (QoS) of broadcast services by separating a routing path calculation function and a resource allocation function during the setting of a multicast broadcast channel and enabling a resource control server to perform centralized resource control. In the method and system for providing a multicast service in an NGN, a multicast router calculates a routing path, and a number of multicast routers on the calculated routing path issue a request for resources for a desired multimedia broadcast channel, and a resource control server allocates resources to the multicast routers on the calculated routing path.

Abstract: A command input method makes use of a three-dimensional motion recognition device embodied with an inertia system and is particularly directed to extend the total number of inputable commands using initial posture information as well as movement pattern of a motion recognition device. The command input method includes the steps of: determining initial posture at start point when movement of the motion recognition device is generated; determining a pattern of the movement at the end of the movement; and deciding a command from the determined initial posture and the movement pattern. Since the three-dimensional spatial motion can be further differentiated into different commands by the initial posture of the input device, the command input system can be simplified in structure with less number of recognizable motions.

The subscriber terminal-based personalized broadcast service method includes receiving broadcast program schedule information from a broadcast head-end and receiving content schedule information from at least one content server; creating a personalized channel schedule in which a plurality of broadcast programs and a plurality of contents are arranged according to time with reference to the broadcast program schedule information and the content schedule information; and receiving a broadcast program or a content requested with reference to the personalized channel schedule from the broadcast head-end or the content server. Therefore, it is possible for a subscriber to view various broadcast programs and contents at any desired time.

A target terminal list is configured by locating terminals having higher possibilities for session mobility to locations having higher session mobility priorities on the target terminal list to reconfigure the target terminal list, the reconfigured target terminal list is transmitted to a terminal in which a session is currently being executed, and a terminal to which the session is to be moved is selected from the target terminal list. Accordingly, efficiency of session mobility is ensured.
