Abstract: Disclosed is a composite service control system resolving a conflict. A triggering condition of a new application that requests a registration is determined. When the determined triggering condition overlaps with a triggering condition of an existing registered application, determinations are made whether an intersection between an explicit conflict set of the new application and an explicit conflict set of the existing application exists and whether an intersection between an implicit conflict set of an API of the new application and an implicit conflict set of an API of the existing application exists; and The triggering condition and execution information of the existing application is reported. When either of the intersections exists, a defining of a conflict resolution policy or a changed application triggering condition for the new application is requested; otherwise the triggering condition and the execution information of the new application is stored in an information database.

Abstract: Provided are a method and system for providing a multicast service in a next-generation network (NGN), which can improve the quality-of-service (QoS) of broadcast services by separating a routing path calculation function and a resource allocation function during the setting of a multicast broadcast channel and enabling a resource control server to perform centralized resource control. In the method and system for providing a multicast service in an NGN, a multicast router calculates a routing path, and a number of multicast routers on the calculated routing path issue a request for resources for a desired multimedia broadcast channel, and a resource control server allocates resources to the multicast routers on the calculated routing path.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling an internet protocol television service and a content searching method, enabling a user to easily use EPG and to share contents with other users, are provided. An EPG server of the IPTV service controlling apparatus includes a program creating module configured to create an electronic program guide by use of information about contents and an interface module which is connected to an internet protocol television (IPTV) terminal through a predetermined session, provides the IPTV terminal with the created EPG through the session, receives a keyword from the IPTV terminal through the predetermined session and searches for a content including the key word through web browsing.

Abstract: A command input method makes use of a three-dimensional motion recognition device embodied with an inertia system and is particularly directed to extend the total number of inputable commands using initial posture information as well as movement pattern of a motion recognition device. The command input method includes the steps of: determining initial posture at start point when movement of the motion recognition device is generated; determining a pattern of the movement at the end of the movement; and deciding a command from the determined initial posture and the movement pattern. Since the three-dimensional spatial motion can be further differentiated into different commands by the initial posture of the input device, the command input system can be simplified in structure with less number of recognizable motions.

Abstract: A subscriber terminal-based personalized broadcast service system and method are provided. The subscriber terminal-based personalized broadcast service method includes receiving broadcast program schedule information from a broadcast head-end and receiving content schedule information from at least one content server; creating a personalized channel schedule in which a plurality of broadcast programs and a plurality of contents are arranged according to time with reference to the broadcast program schedule information and the content schedule information; and receiving a broadcast program or a content requested with reference to the personalized channel schedule from the broadcast head-end or the content server. Therefore, it is possible for a subscriber to view various broadcast programs and contents at any desired time.

By providing remote medical services to users in the Open IPTV environment using a remote medical service providing apparatus including: an application programming interface (API) calling unit to call, when receiving a request for receiving a remote medical service from a counselor's terminal, an API of an Open Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) platform; and a service provider to provide the remote medical service to a user through the API, it is possible to provide remote medical service operators with environments where they can develop and share various remote medical to services and content.

Accordingly, a keyboard row is determined based on a change of tension related to a user's finger movement, and then position of an input key belonging to the keyboard row can be obtained.

Abstract: A system and method for providing a broadcasting service in a multi terminal context in an IP based network are provided. A subscriber of a customized convergence broadcasting service organizes a personal program log, and a broadcast server provides a broadcasting service to the subscriber according to the personal program log. In order for the subscriber to receive broadcasting services using various types of heterogeneous terminals, a service control server controls customized convergence broadcasting services according to information about the status of each terminal possessed by the subscriber and a degree of preference to a terminal preferred by the subscriber among the terminals.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for providing information about terminals allowing session mobility. A target terminal list is configured by locating terminals having higher possibilities for session mobility to locations having higher session mobility priorities on the target terminal list to reconfigure the target terminal list, the reconfigured target terminal list is transmitted to a terminal in which a session is currently being executed, and a terminal to which the session is to be moved is selected from the target terminal list. Accordingly, efficiency of session mobility is ensured.

The channel control apparatus comprises: a pattern information collection unit configured to collect data regarding a channel zapping pattern of a user for a cycle of a previously set period; a bandwidth management unit configured to set a pre-joining bandwidth, which is an allowable bandwidth for channels to be pre-joined, based on the collected data; a channel selection unit configured to select channels to be pre-joined according to channel preference of a user; and a channel pre-join unit configured to pre-join the channels selected by the channel selection unit within the set pre-joining bandwidth.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling Internet Protocol television (IPTV) service is provided. The IPTV service controlling apparatus includes a service control unit and a display information providing unit. The service control unit is configured to conduct a user authentication based on user information of an Internet Protocol television (IPTV) terminal, create Electric Program Guide (EPG) information according to a request for EGP information made by an authorized user, transport the created EPG information to the display information providing unit and provide the IPTV terminal with an IPTV service that is requested using the EPG information by the user. The display information providing unit processes the EPG information to correspond to an environment of the IPTV terminal based on information about the IPTV terminal and provides the IPTV terminal with the processed EPG information.
