A duplication memory is used to store a right object (RO) in downloading a duplicate of content that is already stored in the replay memory. When a right issuer timestamp (RITS) included in the right object (RO) of the currently received content is less than the current time plus the set threshold value, and the globally unique right object identifier (GUID) and the right issuer timestamp (RITS) of the received right object (RO) are already stored in the replay memory, the received right object (RO) is separately stored in the duplication memory in association with the globally unique right object identifier (GUID).

Abstract: A method and apparatus save power in a multimode wireless terminal having plural communication modems for supporting different communication systems. The multimode wireless terminal performs its basic functions of reception and transmission, while only one of the communication modems is turned on and the others are turned off so as to reduce power consumption. This results in extension of the utilization time of the multimode wireless terminal.

Abstract: A wireless broadband (WiBro) station is capable of supporting Quality of Service (QoS), and a method provides the QoS service in a WiBro network. A High_MAC processor is additionally constructed to parse a packet inputted from an application layer, assigns a QoS class according to a feature of the parsed packet, and transmits the packet through a channel corresponding to the assigned QoS class, thereby performing a QoS service through a separate QoS processing module provided between the application layer and a Media Access Control (MAC) layer. Thus, a burden imposed on the MAC layer is reduced, and a faster QoS service is provided.

Abstract: A terminal hand-off apparatus in a wireless broadband Internet system and a terminal hand-off method in the system includes a connection processor and a hand-off processor. The connection processor predicts a movement direction using a current position of the terminal in communication with a counterpart terminal using a predetermined Internet Protocol (IP) address, and requests an IP address to be assigned upon entering a coverage area of at least one of a plurality of Radio Access Stations (RASs) located near the predicted movement direction. The hand-off processor transmits at least one IP address assigned from the RAS whose coverage area has been entered to the counterpart terminal, and requests the counterpart terminal to transmit data to the IP address assigned by the RAS upon hand-off to one of the plurality of RASs assigning the at least one IP address.

Abstract: In a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) video communication method and apparatus, first and second VoIP-based terminals store video event indexes and images mapped thereto with respect to state information of a user and terminal, and establish a session using session establishment information defining the video event. The first terminal then transmits a data packet including the video event index, and the second terminal receives the data packet and outputs an image mapped to the video event index of the images stored in advance. Thus, by transmitting and receiving a predefined index alone without transmitting user and terminal states as a real time data-type image, the VoIP video communication method and apparatus prevent unnecessary waste of bandwidth in video communication.

The WLAN calculates, from the captured packets, busy factors indicative of the load on each WLAN service channel so as to confer a priority between WLAN service channels. Thus, the broadband wireless access system maximizes utilization of the bandwidth allocated according to the UGS algorithm.

Abstract: In a system and method for handoff using a hybrid network, a wireless local area network (WLAN) terminal determines its own position information through communication with a code division multiple access (CDMA) base station and a global positioning system (GPS) satellite, and a cell mapping server obtains information about a WLAN cell where the WLAN terminal is currently located from the WLAN terminal position information, determines information about a cell to which the terminal is expected to be handed off from the current position of the WLAN terminal, and provides the cell information to the WLAN terminal. This allows handoff to be performed without scanning a destination access point, thereby significantly reducing WLAN handoff time.

Abstract: A network access method of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) terminals and a network system thereof which are designed to support network association between a terminal and an Access Point (AP) in an IEEE 802.11 WLAN environment includes: scanning at least one AP in the network and determining whether or not the AP uses a Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) Key; and converting to an Open System authentication mode or a Shared Key authentication mode according to the determination.
