  • Publication number: 20050176430
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting control information in a mobile communication system transmits uplink or downlink control information required for an E-DCH transmission between MAC layers of a transmitting side and a receiving side. The MAC layer of the transmitting side divides the MAC PDU into a MAC control PDU and a MAC data PDU and transmits data through the MAC data PDU and uplink or downlink control information through the MAC control PDU to the receiving side. the MAC control PDU includes an identifier for indicating a type of a MAC PDU and a sub-identifier for discriminating a type of the corresponding MAC control PDU.

  • Publication number: 20050177620
Abstract: A method for establishing radio bearer (RB) between a mobile terminal and a network in a wireless communication system. The mobile terminal receives RB information for a specific service from one or more cells and stores the received the RB information. If the mobile terminal is moved to one or more cells and then is moved back to the specific cell, the mobile terminal establishes an RB for the specific service according to the previously stored RB information of the specific cell rather than re-receiving the RB information.

  • Publication number: 20050165945
Abstract: Data for a multicast service is provided by a radio communication system by performing header compression and employing a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity that exists for every specific MBMS service to be provided for a cell with users therein. The particular network component (e.g., in a SRNC or a CRNC) that includes one PDCP layer for each specific MBMS service depends upon certain characteristics of the terminals (UE) located within a cell that wish to receive the specific MBMS service. The terminal receives via a common transport channel and restores (i.e., decompresses) the header-compressed data of the MBMS service that was transmitted after header compression at the CRNC, while the terminal receives via a dedicated transport channel and restores (i.e., decompresses) the header-compressed data of the MBMS service that was transmitted after header compression at the SRNC.

  • Publication number: 20050162419
Abstract: A 3D virtual simulation system and method that provide decision-making information for selection and purchase of eyeglasses is presented. The system is comprised of four major units: 3D graphic simulation unit, contents delivery unit intelligent, Customer Relation Management (CRM) unit and back-office unit. 3D graphic simulation unit generates 3D face models of a user face and eyeglasses, and fit those objects automatically on networked platforms at real-time. The 3D face model is created from photo images of the face with options to select hair models. The 3D eyeglasses model is generated by a systematic reverse engineering process with specially designed measuring device. Graphic simulation unit transacts with intelligent CRM unit, so that user behavior is tracked down for push-marketing activity. Contents are delivered in a form of service-on-demand and ASP (Application Service Provider).

  • Publication number: 20050099400
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a virtual graffiti function and a recording medium for the same. The apparatus for providing a virtual graffiti function includes: a touch-screen display for displaying information on its screen, and at the same time receiving user-entry data created by a user touching the screen; and a controller connected to the touch-screen display, which overlaps a graffiti screen image with a main screen image in a virtual graffiti area for providing a portion of the screen with virtual graffiti, classifies the user-entry data created by the user touching the screen into application execution entry data and graffiti entry data according to the touched position and/or method, and processes the classified user-entry data differently from each other. Therefore, the apparatus can effectively implement a graffiti function in a hand-held device limited in size, and can also provide an effective recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20050068963
Abstract: A method and apparatus for establishing a radio bearer of a point-to-multipoint multimedia service by utilizing a reference configuration of radio bearer parameters for quickly establising a radio bearer when a mobile terminal moves between cells. By configuring radio bearer parameters for a specific point-to-multipoint service by utilizing a reference configuration such that the same, or equal value, protocol and channel parameters are set for each cell, different cells in a communication system in which a specific point-to-point service is provided are able to configure the radio protocol entities, channels, and radio bearer at the same time by utilizing the same parameter values, thereby minimizing delay in establishing a radio bearer and minimizing data loss occurring during handover, conserving network resources, and enhancing reception performance via soft combining.

  • Publication number: 20050054344
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a point-to-multipoint service to a mobile terminal that moves from an area controlled by a first radio network controller (RNC) to an area controlled by a second radio network controller is provided. Information regarding a transmission mode status of the second RNC is utilized by the first RNC to determine if it is necessary to transmit MBMS data to the second RNC. MBMS data is transmitted from the first RNC to the second RNC only if the transmission status of the second RNC is point-to-point, thereby preventing unnecessary data transmission between the first RNC and second RNC and the enhancing the efficiency of the radio resources between the second RNC and the mobile terminal.

  • Publication number: 20050043050
Abstract: A radio protocol entity sharing apparatus and method are provided. Different cells share a second-layer protocol entity to use the same channel parameter values and the same protocol parameter values, thereby reducing a delay resulting from reestablishing a radio bearer in the event of a handover, minimizing data loss during handover, conserving network resources, and enhancing reception performance via soft combining. The method includes steps of receiving, in a mobile station, a first parameter value and a first parameter value indicator; establishing a channel using the first parameter value and the first parameter value indicator; receiving, in the mobile station, a second parameter value indicator; and maintaining the established channel if the first parameter value indicator is identical to the second parameter value indicator.

  • Publication number: 20050041681
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided that enables a mobile terminal which cannot simultaneously receive two physical channels to receive a service that utilizes two physical channels. In one embodiment, the service data and control information are transmitted on separate physical channels in a non-simultaneous manner such that the physical channel on which the data is transmitted includes an indication of when control information is available on the other physical channel on which the control information is transmitted, thereby facilitating the mobile terminal switching between the two physical channels in order to receive the service data and control information. In another embodiment, the service data and control information are transmitted on a single physical channel, thereby precluding the need for the mobile terminal to switch between two physical channels in order to receive the service data and control information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for securing a quality of service of packet data service provided in a communication system by enabling mobile terminals that receive the packet data service in the RRC-idle mode to provide information to the network regarding the quality of the received service. A mobile receiving a specific service, for example MBMS, may provide information related to the quality of the received service or the results of measurements performed to determine the quality of the received service to a network via a common control channel either in response to a measurement request from the network or if the mobile terminal determines that the quality of the received service is below a minimum quality of service to be secured.

Abstract: An insulating layer having a BPSG layer, a semiconductor device and methods for fabricating them. After preparing an oxidizing atmosphere using an oxygen gas, a first seed layer is formed with a tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and the oxygen gas. Thereafter, a second seed layer, used to form an insulating layer capable of controlling an amount of a boron, is formed by means of using a triethylborate (TEB), the TEOS and the oxygen gas. Then, the insulating layer having a BPSG layer is formed using the TEB, a triethylphosphate, the TEOS and an ozone gas. About 5.25 to 5.75% by weight of the boron and about 2.75 to 4.25% by weight of the phosphorous are added to the insulating layer.
