  • Publication number: 20030155072
Abstract: A rapid thermal anneal (RTA) chamber having one or multiple openings in a chamber wall and a reflective index monitor in the opening or openings, respectively. The reflective index monitor or monitors each measures the infrared reflective index of the reflector plate of the rapid thermal anneal chamber, and sends a corresponding signal to a process controller, an alarm, or both a process controller and an alarm. In the event that the measured reflective index of the reflector plate deviates from the reflective index of a control, the process controller terminates heating operation of the chamber to prevent damage to the semiconductor wafer in the chamber. The alarm may be activated to alert personnel to the need for immediate replacement of the contaminated reflector plate.

  • Publication number: 20020164975
Abstract: A wireless message informing system is provided for use in a portable communication device and an announcing device. The wireless message informing system includes a local transmitting device and a remote receiving device. The local transmitting device and the remote receiving device are coupled together electromagnetically. The local transmitting device is configured in the portable communication device while the remote receiving device is coupled to the announcing device. When the local transmitting device receives a wireless signal, it outputs a triggering signal. After the remote receiving device receives the triggering signal, it feeds a driving signal into the announcing device so that the announcing device outputs an informing signal for notifying a user.

  • Patent number: 6256400
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a method of segmenting hand gestures which automatically segments hand gestures to be detected into words or apprehensible units structured by a plurality of words when recognizing the hand gestures without the user's presentation where to segment. Transition feature data in which a feature of a transition gesture being not observed during a gesture representing a word but is described when transiting from a gesture to another is previously stored. Thereafter, a motion of image corresponding to the part of body in which the transition gesture is observed is detected (step S106), the detected motion of image is compared with the transition feature data (step S107), and a time position where the transition gesture is observed is determined so as to segment the hand gestures (step S108).

  • Patent number: 6215890
Abstract: A hand gesture recognizing device is provided which can correctly recognize hand gestures at high speed without requiring users to be equipped with tools. A gesture of a user is stereoscopically filmed by a photographing device 1 and then stored in an image storage device 2. A feature image extracting device 3 transforms colors of the stereoscopic image data read from the image storage device 2 in accordance with color transformation tables created by a color transformation table creating device 13, and disassembles and outputs the feature image of the user in corresponding channels. A spatial position calculating device 4 calculates spatial positions of feature parts of the user by utilizing parallax of the feature image outputted from the feature image extracting device 4. A region dividing device 5 defines the space around the user with spatial region codes. A hand gesture detecting device 6 detects how the hands of the user move in relation to the spatial region codes.

  • Patent number: 5318523
Abstract: A drug-feeder for children comprises a drug chamber and a drug guider. A rotating member is disposed at a front end of the drug guider and can be rotarily adjusted to optionally inject the liquid drug in the drug chamber in an upward direction or two lateral directions to cure different areas in the oral cavity of the child. The drug chamber and the drug guider are inclinedly connected to form an angle about 130 degrees between them so that when the drug-feeder is Placed in the mouth of the child, the oral cavity of the child can still be clearly seen and no drug will drop onto the tongue of the child before the drug guider reaches the desired position for treatment, preventing the child from resisting against the drug feeding due to the bad taste of drug.

  • Patent number: 5108423
Abstract: A nipple assembly with an alarm buzzer and a body temperature indicator. The assembly comprises a nipple base in which is accommodated a main case and an inner case as well as a ring-shaped thermometer attached thereto. In the main case are provided an inner case, an IC board, a heat sensitive resistor and a buzzer. A heat conductive liquid is filled in the sealed space defined by the base, the main case, and the inner case. At the rear end of the base is attached a transparent convex housing to which is fastened a handle with a battery. When a baby sucks the nipple of the assembly, the heat in the baby's mouth can be transferred through the liquid to the thermometer so that it can indicate the baby's body temperature. Moreover, when the baby's body temperature reaches a predetermined warning value, a signal from a heat sensitive resistor will be sent to the buzzer so that the latter can issue an alarming sound.
