Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein may include systems and methods for determining a patient's respiratory effort and blood oxygen saturation based on data acquired from a pulse oximetry sensor and analyzing the parameters in conjunction with each other. For example, the respiratory effort may be determined based on a photo-plethysmographic waveform generated from light attenuation detected by the sensor, and the blood oxygen saturation may be a pulse-based estimate of arterial blood oxygen saturation determined from the detected attenuation. Analysis of the parameters may enable detection and classification of apnea (e.g., obstructive or central) or another underlying cause for respiratory instability. Furthermore, the measured respiratory effort may be compared to respiratory effort supplied by a ventilator to ensure proper sensor placement before enabling automatic adjustment of ventilator settings.

Abstract: The lawn sprinkler system utilizes a single impulse type sprinkler head and at least one (preferably a series of) ground anchor receptacle(s) for the single sprinkler head. The ground anchors are permanently placed as desired, with the single sprinkler head and water supply hose being moved from one ground anchor to another to complete the watering task. Each ground anchor is provided with indicators to indicate the stop settings for the impulse sprinkler head when installed at that location. The user installs the sprinkler head with its attached hose in the selected ground anchor, and sets the sprinkler head stops in accordance with the indicators on the ground anchor. When the watering has been accomplished at that location, the water is turned off, the sprinkler head moved to another anchor, its stops are adjusted, and the water turned on to continue the process.

Abstract: An oxidizing cleaning composition comprises a low concentration of aqueous hydrogen peroxide that is environmentally friendly and has good stability in strong alkaline solutions. The aqueous hydrogen peroxide composition contains a synergistic combination of one or more hydrophilic surfactants having an HLB of 10 or greater, one or more hydrotropes, one or more UV-analyzable surfactants having an aromatic detectable functional group, and optionally a surfactant having an HLB of less than 10. The cleaning composition when mixed with an alkaline compound is very effective in removing dried or baked residues of polymers, modified or natural celluloses starches, natural gels, and the like at low concentrations and temperatures.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems, devices, and/or methods for assessing body fluid-related metrics and/or changes therein. The disclosure further provides systems, devices, and/or methods for correlating body fluid-related metrics in a particular tissue with the corresponding whole-body metric. The disclosure also provides, systems, devices, and/or methods for assessment of such metrics to facilitate diagnosis and/or therapeutic interventions related to maintaining and/or restoring body fluid balance.

Abstract: A sensor is provided that is appropriate for transcutaneous detection of tissue or blood constituents. An electrochemical sensor for tissue constituent detection may include sensing materials that may be dry stored without liquid calibrant. The sensor may also include a temperature sensor that detects variations in tissue temperature at the sensor site. The tissue constituent measurements may be corrected in light of temperature variations of the tissue.

Abstract: A sensor for physiological constituent detection may be adapted to include a mucoadhesive. A sensor is provided that is appropriate for use on mucosal tissue. The mucoadhesive provides a mechanism for holding the sensor on the mucous membrane in order to measure physiological constituent levels in the tissue and blood.

Abstract: A cosmetic stick product, especially an antiperspirant and/or deodorant is disclosed which is made with a combination of dipropylene glycol, diethyl phthalate and stearyl alcohol. This stick employs the deliberate use of diethyl phthalate even in a system which is free of added fragrance to achieve improved stability and allow for the use of reduced amounts of dipropylene glycol.

Abstract: An oral composition mouthwash or liquid dentifrice containing an aqueous vehicle acceptable vehicle including an alcohol, a substantially water-insoluble noncationic antibacterial antiplaque agent, such as 2,4,4'-trichloro-21'-hydroxy-diphenyl ether (triclosan) wherein the antiplague agent is entirely dissolved in the solvent and the weight ratio of water to alcohol is in excess of about 10:1.
