    Abstract: The present invention is a method and an apparatus for dynamic manipulation and dispersion in photonic crystal devices. In one embodiment, a photonic crystal structure comprises a substrate having a plurality of apertures formed therethrough, a waveguide formed by “removing” a row of apertures, and a plurality of pairs of lateral electrical contacts, the lateral electrical contact pairs extending along the length of the waveguide in a spaced-apart manner. The lateral electrical contact pairs facilitate local manipulation of the photonic crystal structure's refractive index. Thus, optical signals of different wavelengths that propagate through the photonic crystal structure can be dynamically manipulated.

    Abstract: A security zipper is provided, which includes a consumer side zipper pair and a product side zipper pair, where each zipper pair is capable of secure mating. Between the zipper pairs is an intermediate flange pair which is layered with an adhesive as well as an adhesive enhancer to securely connect the intermediate flange pair. A slider is provided over the consumer side zipper pair, the product side zipper pair and the intermediate flange pair which mates the zipper pairs and connects the intermediate flanges so that the zipper is securely closed. A bag is also disclosed, which includes the security zipper and a connected product side pouch. In addition, a method for manufacturing the bag is disclosed.

    Abstract: A light emitting diode package structure includes a substrate, LED bare chips and a lens. The substrate has an upper surface, a lower surface and a side surface between the upper surface and the lower surface. The upper surface is provided with a circuit pattern. The side surface is provided with a groove. The LED bare chips are fixed on the upper surface and electrically connected with the circuit pattern. The lens covers the LED bare chips, the upper surface and the circuit pattern by an injection molding process so as to be inserted into the groove. With this arrangement, the connecting strength between the substrate and the lens can be enhanced, thereby achieving waterproof and anti-electrostatic effects. Further, material cost of the present invention is reduced greatly.
