Publication number: 20250122065Abstract: A lift vehicle includes a chassis, a lift apparatus, an extendable stabilizing member, a sensor, and a controller. The lift apparatus raises or lowers an implement or platform. The extendable stabilizing member can be driven to extend or retract in a direction outwards from the chassis by an actuator between a stowed position and a deployed position. The extendable stabilizing member engages a ground surface. The sensor measures a position of the extendable stabilizing member. The controller obtains the position of the extendable stabilizing member from the sensor. The controller determines a reach envelope based on the position of the extendable stabilizing member. The reach envelope may be reduced in size responsive to retraction of the extendable stabilizing member. The controller operates the lift apparatus according to a user input and restricts operation of the lift apparatus to a point beyond the reach envelope.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2024Publication date: April 17, 2025Applicant: Oshkosh CorporationInventors: Wenton Miller, Shashank Bhatia

Publication number: 20250122066Abstract: A method of restricting operation of a lift device includes obtaining an indication of extension of a first extendable stabilizing member that protrudes from a first side of the lift device and extension of a second extendable stabilizing member that protrudes from a second side of the lift device. The method also includes determining, based on the first extendable stabilizing member being fully extended, a full reach envelope for the first side of the lift device. The method also includes determining, based on the second extendable stabilizing member being only partially extended or stowed, a reduced reach envelope for the second side of the lift device. The method also includes restricting operation of the lift device beyond the full reach envelope on the first side and beyond the reduced reach envelope on the second side.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2024Publication date: April 17, 2025Applicant: Oshkosh CorporationInventors: Wenton Miller, Shashank Bhatia
