  • Patent number: 10048367
Abstract: A target tracking device transmits a radio frequency beam towards a scene, detects backscatter comprising at least a portion of the RF beam reflected from a reflecting object at the scene, and performs operations that include determining whether the reflecting object is a tracking target, determining a position of the tracking target, and generating tracking information indicative of a position adjustment for maintaining an alignment of the target tracking device and the tracking target. A target tracking method includes transmitting a millimeter wavelength beam in a direction of orientation of a camera, detecting backscatter reflected from a reflecting object, determining whether the reflecting object is a tracking target, and determining a position of the tracking target. If a distance to the tracking target has increased from a prior distance, tracking information indicative of a position adjustment for offsetting the increase in distance may be generated.

  • Publication number: 20180227764
Abstract: A method is disclosed for blocking a cloned mobile device by a processor of a network. The processor receives a first registration from a first mobile device at a first location. The first registration includes a device identifier and a phone number. The processor then confirms that a second registration from a second mobile device at a second location includes the device identifier and the phone number and calculates a first fraud score for the first mobile device and a second fraud score for the second mobile device. The processor then determines that the second mobile device is the cloned mobile device, when the second fraud score exceeds the first score, and blocks the cloned mobile device from registering on the network.

  • Publication number: 20180213502
Abstract: Determining a location quality based on base station identification is disclosed. The location quality can be based on an error attributed to a location determined based on historical data related to an identified base station. Application of supplemental data to the historical base station data can improve location quality by reducing the error. Supplemental data can comprise Voronoi data, geographic data, historical UE density data, historical UE timing advance data, or combinations thereof. Voronoi data can be associated with an area less than a service area of the base station. Geographic data can indicate areas where UEs are not likely to be located. UE density data can indicate probably UE locations. Timing advance data can indicate annular regions where a UE should be located. As such, the supplemental data can constrain a location determined for a UE and correspondingly can reduce error associated with the location.

  • Publication number: 20180199307
Abstract: Improved network event tagging for mobile communications is described herein. By way of example, a mobile network can be configured to take periodic geographic positions of a mobile terminal operating within the mobile network. Network events occurring between the periodic geographic positions, otherwise partially unknown in position, can be estimated by referencing topographical information and estimating a route of travel of the mobile device. Estimated speed of the mobile device can be utilized to place the mobile device on a road network, cycling route, pedestrian walkway, or the like, and refine the estimated position of the mobile device at the time of the network event. Such estimates can be refined from traffic information or other real-time travel data. An estimated position of the mobile device can be output as an approximation of the network event to facilitate event modeling for the mobile network.

  • Patent number: 9993210
Abstract: A device for processing alarms includes a processor and a computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform various operations. The operations include receiving a first alarm from a first diagnostic device and determining a location associated with a first user. When the location associated with the first user is determined to be proximate to a device, the operations further include presenting a first verbal alert indicating that the first diagnostic device is presenting the first alarm. When the location associated with the first user is determined to be not proximate to the device, the operations further include sending a first notification message to a first mobile device of the first user indicating that the first diagnostic device is presenting the first alarm.

  • Publication number: 20180150850
Abstract: Demographic assessment of information is facilitated using targeted location oversampling. In one example, a device determines mobile devices communicatively coupled to a base station device associated with a first defined region, wherein the first defined region is relative to a defined location of interest. The device can transmit a set of instructions to the mobile devices that instruct the mobile devices to power on respective location information components configured to transmit location information. The respective location information can be configured to transmit respective global positioning system information for the mobile devices. The device can also determine which ones of the mobile devices are within a second defined region based on respective location information received from the mobile devices.

  • Publication number: 20180152881
Abstract: Determining a permission for a user equipment to connect to an access point based on the public/private status of the access point device is disclosed. The permission can be based on a historic user equipment density for an area comprising the location of the access point device. The permission can be further based on analysis of an access point device identifier. Analysis of the access point device identifier can be based on comparing a portion of the access point device identifier to a term associated with either a public status or a private status of the access point device. In an embodiment, the access point device identifier can be an SSID, such as for a Wi-Fi network, whereby the SSID can be parsed into keywords that can be compared to the term. Ranking and/or white/blacklisting can be performed based on the analysis of the access point device identifier.

  • Publication number: 20180123638
Abstract: Detection of a confusion caused by scrambling code reuse is provided herein. Timing measurements, as observed by a mobile device, and an identification of primary scrambling codes associated with the timing measurements are captured. The timing measurements are identified by the primary scrambling codes for the particular radio measured. The mobile device also reports its location information. Radios for which timing measurements have been received are paired. Based on the paired radios and a history of observed time difference reference values for radio pairs, comparisons are made between paired radios having at least one common radio. Radios, exhibiting a set of values that is near an expected range, are removed from the analysis. Radios, exhibiting two sets of values that are distinct, are isolated in order to identify the radio that is causing the scrambling code confusion.
