  • Patent number: 10812371
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, embodiments and a method. The method includes iteratively providing messages to each Node Processor. Each Node Processor represents a node of a group of nodes. The iteratively providing of the messages comprises providing first messages. Each first message includes a cost associated with a path of nodes visited by each first message. In addition, the method includes determining paths having common endpoints among a portion of the first messages, identifying a cost for each of the paths having common endpoints, identifying a lowest cost from among the group of common endpoint costs, identifying a selected path associated with the lowest cost. A next group of messages includes the selected path. The iteratively providing of the messages results in selected paths. Also, the method include determining a target path from a remaining path. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20200311365
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, acquiring under ambient illumination an image of a label having an encoded region and an authentication region having a random distribution of reflective particles overlaying the encoded region. The encoded message is decoded from the image. An authentication image of the label is obtained according to an image capture configuration. The authentication image includes a reflection pattern of the random distribution of reflective particles. The reflection pattern is associated with the decoded message and an authenticity of the label is determined according to the association and based on a comparison of the reflection pattern to an authenticated reference reflection pattern. Authenticity of the label is determined responsive to the comparison indicating substantial match between the reflection pattern and the authenticated reference reflection pattern. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10693752
Abstract: A mobile communications device may determine whether to report information regarding operation of the mobile device on a mobile network. The determination may be based on a reporting parameter set by a network control device and received via a broadcast message from a radio access node. The mobile device may compare the value of the reporting parameter to a randomly generated number. Based on the comparison, the mobile device may determine whether or not to provide information regarding operation of the mobile device or the radio access node to the network control device. The network control device may adjust the value of the reporting parameter to control the likelihood that a mobile device will report.

  • Patent number: 10687302
Abstract: Improved network event tagging for mobile communications is described herein. By way of example, a mobile network can be configured to take periodic geographic positions of a mobile terminal operating within the mobile network. Network events occurring between the periodic geographic positions, otherwise partially unknown in position, can be estimated by referencing topographical information and estimating a route of travel of the mobile device. Estimated speed of the mobile device can be utilized to place the mobile device on a road network, cycling route, pedestrian walkway, or the like, and refine the estimated position of the mobile device at the time of the network event. Such estimates can be refined from traffic information or other real-time travel data. An estimated position of the mobile device can be output as an approximation of the network event to facilitate event modeling for the mobile network.

  • Publication number: 20200187089
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining whether a past throughput of past traffic communicated between a communication device and a communication network meets a first threshold value, resulting in a first determination; responsive to the first determination being that the past throughput meets the first threshold, transmitting an instruction to the communication device to restrict a first subsequent throughput of first subsequent traffic to no greater than a second threshold value; determining whether the first subsequent throughput has been restricted, resulting in a second determination; and responsive to the second determination being that the first subsequent throughput has not been restricted, taking one or more actions to enforce a second subsequent throughput of second subsequent traffic to no greater than a third threshold value, wherein the third threshold value is lower than the second threshold value. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10681617
Abstract: Determining a permission for a user equipment to connect to an access point based on the public/private status of the access point device is disclosed. The permission can be based on a historic user equipment density for an area comprising the location of the access point device. The permission can be further based on analysis of an access point device identifier. Analysis of the access point device identifier can be based on comparing a portion of the access point device identifier to a term associated with either a public status or a private status of the access point device. In an embodiment, the access point device identifier can be an SSID, such as for a Wi-Fi network, whereby the SSID can be parsed into keywords that can be compared to the term. Ranking and/or white/blacklisting can be performed based on the analysis of the access point device identifier.
