    Abstract: The demand for increased performance and shrinking geometry from ICs has brought the introduction of multi-gate devices including finFET devices. Inducing a higher tensile strain/stress in a region provides for enhanced electron mobility, which may improve performance. High temperature processes during device fabrication tend to relax the stress on these strain inducing layers. In some embodiments, the present disclosure relates to a finFET device and its formation. A strain-inducing layer is disposed on a semiconductor fin between a channel region and a metal gate electrode. First and second inner spacers are disposed on a top surface of the strain-inducing layer and have inner sidewalls disposed along outer sidewalls of the metal gate electrode. First and second outer spacers have innermost sidewalls disposed along outer sidewalls of the first and second inner spacers, respectively. The first and second outer spacers cover outer sidewalls of the first and second inner spacers.

    Abstract: Various examples and schemes pertaining to uplink data compression (UDC) in mobile communications are described. A processor of an apparatus receives a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Session Data Unit (SDU) and performs uplink data compression (UDC) to compress a data portion of the PDCP SDU to generate a UDC packet. The processor also generates a message authentication code with integrity (MAC-I). The processor also ciphers at least a data portion of the UDC packet to provide a ciphered UDC packet. In case the PDCP SDU contains a Service Data Application Protocol (SDAP) header, the processor extracts the SDAP header from the PDCP SDU prior to performing the UDC, and the processor prepends the SDAP header to the ciphered UDC packet. The processor further constructs a PDCP Protocol Data Unit (PDU) by prepending a PDCP header to either the SDAP header or the ciphered UDC packet.

    Abstract: A method of supporting group communication over LTE MBMS is provided. A UE first establishes a unicast bearer in a network for group communication. The UE belongs to a communication group having a communication group ID. The UE receives access information from the network for monitoring downlink (DL) multicast traffic of the DL group communication based on a multicast decision. The UE is then ready for monitoring a multicast Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) bearer for receiving the DL multicast traffic. In one embodiment, The UE requests to switch the DL multicast traffic from the multicast MBMS bearer to the unicast bearer upon detecting that the UE is approaching an MBMS coverage boundary. In another embodiment, the UE transmits an indication of preferred target cells to the network before performing a handover and thereby maintaining multicast service continuity of the group communication.

    Abstract: A cable connector includes a conductive terminal having a positioning wall and a piercing wall. The piercing wall can pierce an outer insulating sheath of a thin cable to be electrically connected to an inner core of the cable. The positioning wall can position the thin cable to reduce bending or dislocation of the thin cable caused by a force and thus minimize pulling of the core. This ensures electrical connection between the piercing wall and the core of the thin cable, and also prevents the core from being damaged or broken by any pulling force.

    Abstract: The embodiment of the invention is to enable universal non-classical MHC I peptide vaccines restricted to HLA-E, HLA-F and HLA-G. An algorithm was develop to predict HLA-E binding immunogenic or suppressorgenic peptides of the autologous origins, e.g., autoantigens, inflammatory antigens, IgE and cancer antigens, and of the microbial origins. Thus, the embodiment of the invention is to load the antigenic peptides of medical and therapeutic importance onto the non-polymorphic HLA-E, HLA-F, and HLA-G culminating in universal vaccines, bypassing highly polymorphic classical MHC I, e.g., HLA-A, HLA-B and HLA-C pathways, in order to treat autoimmune diseases, allergy, inflammatory diseases, cancers, and infectious diseases for all human population. Derlin-1 and UL40 pathways are utilized to enable antigen presentation and vaccine efficacies in the non-classical MHC I pathways.

    Abstract: A method to speed up uplink data access during a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration procedure is proposed. UE first sends an RRC request, and in response receives an RRC reconfiguration message from BS. UE then decodes the RRC reconfiguration message and performs reconfiguration. UE also waits for UL grant for transmitting RRC reconfiguration complete with UL data if available. In one embodiment, BS provides the UL grant in a common search space while UE is performing the reconfiguration, and UE does not need to wait the UL grant until after the reconfiguration is done. In other words, the reconfiguration and the UL grant occurs in parallel, which reduces access delay for UL data. In an alternative embodiment, BS provides UL grant in RRC reconfiguration message, so that UE does not have to receive UL grant while performing the reconfiguration.
