    Abstract: An easy-to-hold off-axis pen has a pen head, a barrel, and at least one forefinger support. The pen head is irregularly shaped and hollow. The barrel is connected with the pen head and is hollow to accommodate a cartridge and to be held. A detachable clip fastener is strip-shaped whose two ends are respectively disposed on the pen head and an off-axis part of the barrel. One end of the detachable clip fastener can be pulled by fingers. The at least one forefinger support is disposed on a sidewall of the off-axis part to support and locate the forefinger during writing. The present invention can further include middle finger abutments disposed on the off-axis part and thumb anti-slip parts disposed on the barrel to make the easy-to-hold off-axis pen easy to grasp and anti-slip, and make users comfortable to grasp.

A hash word is generated from block CRCs that are stored along with data blocks in a hard drive for each data and/or parity track of a storage system, such as a RAID array. Each storage system member writes the hash word into a global memory. Thereafter, a director verifies data integrity using all member's hash words with one or more XOR operations. Use of the hash words for data integrity verification saves system bandwidth and CPU processing resources.

With this structure, when manipulating the pen, the user may select one of five fingers as a specified one to lean against the stop protuberance to settle thereat. The adjustable holding part is bendable at random according to the user's manipulation habit so as to lead the specified finger to lean against the best position on the stop protuberance to perform writing with the pen.
