  • Patent number: 8263048
Abstract: The invention is directed to a calcium phosphate complex and the composition containing the same for oral care applications, in which the calcium phosphate complex is formed by chelating the ?-polyglutamic acid (?-PGA) with amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP). This complex can prevent crystallization of ACP and maintain its high solubility. The calcium phosphate complex has superior mucoadhesion properties, allowing it to remain in the mouth longer and offering effective buffering, by which dental caries can be alleviated and prevented.

  • Patent number: 7679225
Abstract: A voice coil motor. At least one guide bar is connected to a fixed base. A coil is connected to the fixed base. A support base is movably fit on the guide bar. An annular magnetic member is connected to the support base and surrounded by the coil. A magnetization direction of the annular magnetic member parallels a moving direction of the support base and annular magnetic member. The annular magnetic member includes a first magnetic pole and a second magnetic pole. The first magnetic pole is disposed in the coil and separated from the bottom thereof. The second magnetic pole is disposed outside the coil. The coil interacts with the annular magnetic member to generate a first force, driving the support base and annular magnetic member to move along the magnetization direction of the annular magnetic member.

  • Publication number: 20100047310
Abstract: Disclosed is a bio-electrospinning technique for preparing a cell-containing, oriented, continuous tubular scaffold, made of biodegradable polymer, designed for use as a nerve guide conduit (NGC) in nerve regeneration. With a coaxial spinneret, the PC-12 cell medium solution was co-electrospun into a core of tubular fibers, with PLA on the outer shell. The resulted fibers' morphology was characterized via SEM and optical microscopy, and following structural characteristics were found: 1. the larger, hollow fibers had diameters in tenth of microns and wall thicknesses around few microns, 2. an orientation in a preferred direction with the aid of a high-rotating collection device. The fluorescent PC12 cells embedded within the scaffold were cultured and nerve growth factor was added. We observed cells could not only survive the process, but also sustain their viability by undergoing differentiation process, extending neurite along the micro tubular scaffold in the desired direction.

  • Publication number: 20090074310
Abstract: An image data compression method is disclosed. Firstly, check a variance between a first image data and a second image data for comparing the variance with a threshold value. When the variance is smaller than a threshold value, compare the first image data with the second image data to generate a motion vector and compress the motion vector. Then calculate the first image data and the second image data according to the motion vector so as to get an offset value of the motion vector. Next, encode the offset value of the motion vector, compress the offset value of the motion vector, and encode as well as compress the first image data. Thus the compression ratio is improved and image distortion is avoided.
