    Abstract: A window regulator assembly in a vehicle includes a glass lift plate assembly for moving a window glass up and down along the guide rail. The glass lift plate assembly includes a slider base, a glass holder configured to receive and hold the window glass, and an attachment bracket placed on the glass holder to securely hold the window glass. The glass holder includes an inboard part and an outboard part, and is connected to the slider base by an adjustment member, which is configured to adjust a top edge of the window glass. Further, the window glass is placed between the inboard part and the outboard part of the glass holder and also fixedly held by an attachment fastener. The inboard part of the glass holder slidably moves relative to the outboard part of the glass holder by the rotational movement of the adjustment member.

The opposite end of the defroster wire harness is affixed to a second bracket at a window regulator window carrier. Electrical defroster element wires are connected to the defroster wire harness at the second connector. The defroster wire harness is configured to undergo a bending motion in a manner to reduce fatigue and interference with internal components of the vehicle door. Other applications include providing electrical power to electronic or electrical elements carried by a vehicle movable window panel in addition to defroster functions.

The carrier plate has a first cable attachment pocket on the first lateral extension and a second cable attachment pocket on the second lateral extension. Accordingly, the two attachment pockets are arranged on opposite lateral sides. As one cable end pulls the carrier plate upward and the other cable end pulls the carrier plate downward, the arrangement causes torques in the same rotational direction, even when reversing the direction of movement.

    Abstract: A window regulator assembly is described that comprises a window bracket that is in contact with the bottom edge of the window; a cable; a carrier plate that is in contact with the window bracket and both ends of the cable; a tension spring located on each end of the cable; an upper bracket assembly; a drum housing having a cable drum; a hollow conduit located between the upper bracket assembly and the drum housing; and a drive unit. The upper bracket assembly, cable drum, and conduit are capable of slideably receiving the cable, while the tension springs provide a predetermined amount of tension to the cable in order for the window regulator assembly to move the window between open and closed positions. Many of the components of the window regulator assembly may be formed from a thermoplastic material.
