  • Patent number: 6013308
Abstract: A method for removing coating defects from a vehicle body or the like includes the steps of putting a defect information mark on a defect portion of an inspected object's coating, recognizing a position and a removal setting of the defect portion from the defect information mark, and non-contact removal of the defect portion in accordance with the position and the removal setting recognized in the recognizing step. According to the present invention, only the defects are removed, even when they are very small. The non-contact removal step may include spraying a water jet to permit removal of a defect without damaging a base coat. The non-contact removal step is very straightforward. Therefore, the removal position need not be defined in three dimensions. Accordingly, the shape of the vehicle body or the like is not required to be input.

  • Patent number: 5260975
Abstract: A digital demodulator wherein a phase difference is detected between a reference signal and an angle-modulated wave, the difference in frequency is detected between the angle-modulated carrier wave and the reference signal based on the phase difference, and the phase of the reference signal to be set is controlled based on the phase and frequency difference. That is, the detection of the angle-modulated wave, the detection of the phase and frequency differences, and the phase control are performed using digital circuits. Therefore, excellent error rate is exhibited under noise and fading conditions, and it is possible to realize a small-sized low-cost demodulator which requires lower power and no adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5202906
Abstract: A frequency division scheme which offsets for a phase lag produced on initial power-on is described. A division ratio of a programmable counter is initially set at a first division ratio at the time of releasing the programmable counter from its reset state. When the first division cycle is complete, the division ratio is reset to its steady state value. Thus, a delay equivalent to the phase lag is produced. A frequency synthesizer is also proposed where the division ratio is set, and a phase difference is detected. Reset signals are continually set while the phase difference is changed. This cycle is continued until the phase difference is reduced to one cycle of the input signals or less.
