  • Publication number: 20060042962
Abstract: In a high-throughput cell assay apparatus, a cell-and-electrode chip conveying apparatus moves from a cell storage to a measuring portion, and then to a cell-and-electrode chip disposal portion. Thereafter, it is determined if the electrode chip after being used should be re-used, again, or not, by referring to a condition for exchanging the electrode chip. When not be re-used, again, the cell-and-electrode chip conveying apparatus shifts the electrode chip from the measuring portion to the cell-and-electrode chip disposal portion, thereby disposing the electrode chip. The conveying apparatus moves from an exchangeable electrode chip storage to the measuring portion, thereby position a new electrode chip onto the measuring portion.

  • Publication number: 20060008821
Abstract: Within an inside of a bead chip forming a reactor flow pass therein, rinsing liquid flow passes are also provided in one body. For the purpose of promoting reaction upon a bead array, a turbulence generator or an flow separation stop guide is provided within the reactor flow pass, in which the beads are received. The bead chip is made of a PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane: (C2H6SiO)n), thereby enabling the reactor flow pass and the rinsing liquid flow passes to be formed freely in the configurations thereof.

Abstract: A magnetic disk apparatus includes a plurality of magnetic disks driven to rotate by a spindle motor, arms supporting magnetic heads on the magnetic disks, an actuator for moving the arms on the magnetic disks by a voice coil motor, and a housing which surrounds the magnetic disks, the arms and the actuator. A shroud which arcuately surrounds the magnetic disks along the outer periphery thereof has an opened portion for inserting the arms is formed in a part of the housing. The shroud on an upstream side of the arms relative to airflow generated by the magnetic disks when rotating is provided with an opening having a greater width than that of a gap defined between the shroud and the outer periphery of the magnetic disks. An empty bypass channel is provided which communicates from the opening through a rear side of the voice coil motor to the downstream side of the arms.

  • Patent number: 6929196
Abstract: For each of the injection holes on the face of a plate member which is disposed in a fuel passage, grooves are provided which run along the circumferential direction of the respective injection holes, and at the positions of the grooves, fuel overflows are formed. As a result, contracted fuel flow portions are formed in the injection holes, so that the maximum flow velocity of fuel is increased at the injection hole outlet portions. Thus, a fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine is provided, in which the atomization performance near the injection holes is effectively enhanced.

  • Patent number: 6898049
Abstract: A magnetic disk apparatus includes magnetic disks stacked on a rotating shaft, arms supporting magnetic heads, a rotary actuator for moving the arms, and a housing forming at least a part of an arcuate-shaped shroud which substantially surrounds a portion of side surfaces of the magnetic disks so as to define a gap between the shroud and the portion of the side surfaces of the magnetic disks. The arcuate-shaped shroud has portions delimiting an open space adjacent to another portion of the side surfaces of the magnetic disks which is located on a downstream side of the arms relative to an air flow which moves on surfaces of the magnetic disks. A bypass channel provides air flow to the disks in a region of the open space at a reduced pressure on the downstream side of the arms with respect to pressure at an upstream side of the arms.

  • Patent number: 6453872
Abstract: At an outlet portion of an injection hole (8) of a fuel injection valve (1), through removal of a part (A1, 7B) of a wall forming the injection hole (8), a restriction to a spray flow is eliminated, thereby, a deflection of the spray occurs in which the spray is rich at the side where this restriction is released and is lean at the side that is restricted. Thus, the ignition property of an internal combustion engine is improved, and an optimum spray is realized which reduces the amount of unburnt gas components being exhausted.
