  • Publication number: 20030056176
Abstract: Attributes can be set for an entire document, each chapter, and each page by using an entire document attribute, chapter attribute, and page attribute. When the print format of a chapter is set with a chapter attribute different from the entire document attribute, this chapter is printed in a print format complying with the chapter attribute. Similarly, when the print format of a page is set with a page attribute different from the entire document attribute or chapter attribute, this page is printed in the print format complying with the page attribute. In hierarchically displaying the document structure with a book, chapters, and pages, a predetermined icon is so added as to identify a chapter or page having a unique attribute.

  • Publication number: 20030056177
Abstract: This invention relates to a document processing apparatus which edits document data which can define a desired section using an original page as a unit of definition. Whether a page break is designated at the section break of the section is determined. If the page break is designated, a blank original page is inserted at the end of a section before the section break so as to lay out the first original page of a section after the section break at the start of a new surface of a print sheet when original pages are laid out in accordance with a designated layout. The original pages of the document data including the inserted blank page are laid out in accordance with the layout. Alternatively, this invention relates to an information processing apparatus which performs print setting including print format setting of a print material to be printed by a printing apparatus, for document data generated on the basis of drawing data output from an application.

  • Publication number: 20010017620
Abstract: An information processing apparatus provides the user with a status of a device on a network correctly and efficiently to improve the work efficiency of the user. A display unit displays a device map according to information previously stored in a storage unit, when an application for displaying the device map (status of the device on the network) is activated, and re-displays the device map thereafter according to the latest information obtained by an obtaining unit.

  • Patent number: 5837804
Abstract: Polyimides satisfying the requirements (a), (b) and (c) among the requirements described below, polyimides satisfying the requirements (b), (c) and (d), and polyimides satisfying the requirements (a), (b), (c) and (d) are excellent in transparency, isotropy and resistance to cracking (no crack is formed in the formation of a multilayer film, so that the multilayer formation is easy, namely, the polyimides are good in processability) and can give optical parts excellent in optical characteristics:(a) the difference between the refractive index in TE mode and that in TM mode is 0.02 or less,(b) the glass transition temperature (Tg) is 250.degree. C or higher,(c) the optical transmission loss at a wavelength of 0.7 to 1.6 .mu.m is 1 dB/cm or less, and(d) the fluorine content is 22.6% by weight or less.

  • Patent number: 4381269
Abstract: In a sealed system, a polymerization initiator and a chain transfer agent are added to a methyl methacrylate monomer distilled under reduced pressure condition via a distillation step of the former both ingredients, the methyl methacrylate monomer is successively polymerized to prepare a core polymer while maintaining the reduced pressure condition, then the resulting core polymer is subjected to melt spinning to form a core fiber while maintaining the sealed system, and a clad of a macromolecular compound having a refractive index lower than that of the aforesaid core fiber is adhered around the periphery thereof, whereby a low-loss plastic optical fiber with excellent optical transmission characteristics having a core-cladding structure is fabricated. Plastic optical fibers so made exhibit light attenuation as low as 60 dB/km or lower.
