  • Patent number: 5748776
Abstract: The present invention is intended to exactly extract a feature-region along its contour line without erroneously extracting any moving object other than the feature-region. An extraction signal from a feature-region main-portion extracting circuit is sent to a small region eliminating circuit whereby an erroneously extracted small region is detected and eliminated as an erroneously extracted noisy portion. The small region eliminating circuit compares a small region with four predetermined detection patterns, discriminates it as a region other than the feature (face)-region if no match is found and causes a center pixel of a window of 3.times.3 pixels to have a logical value of zero. An output of the small region eliminating circuit is sent to a blank filling circuit which compares its input with four predetermined detection patterns, discriminates it as a face-region if a match is found and makes a central pixel of a window of 13.times.13 pixels have a logical value of 1.

  • Patent number: 5208660
Abstract: A television display apparatus is disclosed for forming a small image area in accord with the television signal of a standard system within one portion of the region of a large image area on the screen in accord with the television signal of an HDTV system. The apparatus displays a picture in the small image area within the large area by locally substituting for a first signal to display on the screen a composite picture having a picture of a second signal nested in the picture of the first signal. The apparatus uses three field memories each having a video signal of the second television signal written therein with the cycle. Field detecting apparatus determines whether the video signal in each television signal is a signal form the first field or the second field. The field memory that is not being currently written and has a field which is identical to that of the video signal included in the first television signal being currently scanned is selected for the composite picture.

  • Patent number: 5051574
Abstract: The present optical detection apparatus is adapted to measure an individual light reception value received by respective photodetectors when the light is interrupted by an object and the driving amount for light emission of the respective light emitting devices is controlled to be equal, compute and store the individual driving amount for light emission of the respective light emitting devices so that the individual light reception value may be kept constant and drive the respective light emitting devices in accordance with the individual driving amount for light emission. Accordingly, variation of the light reception value of the respective photodetectors may be eliminated thus preventing erroneous detection of an object.

  • Patent number: 5036187
Abstract: The optical input detection apparatus is adapted to integrate the value of the light received corresponding to the sum of the value of the light received by the light receiving device during driving of the light emitting device and the external flood light, deduct from the integration value the value of the light received equivalent to the external flood light received by the photodetector during the non-driving period following the driving of the light emitting device, compensate the integration value to the signal corresponding to the light emitting output and output the compensated signal to the comparator for comparison. Consequently, the presence or absence of an interruption in the light beam may be detected without being affected by the external flood light.

  • Patent number: 4797319
Abstract: Method for manufacturing glazed cement products of a foam light-weight aggregate, reinforcing steel under pretension or a stress-absorbing layer around the reinforcing steel. An action of generating crack, caused by a difference of coefficient of thermal expansion between the reinforcing steel and a portion of cement material while burning and cooling are carried out, is absorbed by the foam light-weight aggregate, the stress-absorbing layer or pretension given to the reinforcing steel. A reaction of unreacted cement component is promoted by the hydration to harden for recovering mechanical strength.

  • Patent number: 4756956
Abstract: A foamed ceramic panel having a base layer comprising foamed inorganic raw materials and a fine glass layer comprising fused and solidified ceramic paper and formed on at least one surface of the base layer. A layer of heat-foamable inorganic raw materials and the ceramic paper laminated on the surface of the layer of heat-foamable inorganic raw materials are simultaneously burned and fused together. In producing the panel, the glossiness of the surface of the panel is improved by quenching the foamed panel and re-heating the same to a softening temperature. The panels are applicable to interior or exterior materials for various kinds of buildings, art ceramic panels for decoration, and the like.
