  • Patent number: 5067488
Abstract: A mastication measurement apparatus is provided with a displacement detecting element such as a piezoelectric element and a holder which keeps the detecting element in close contact with a part of the side of one's face. The apparatus is capable of processing electric signals produced by the detecting element to measure the number of masticating cycles, number of masticating cycles per unit time, a maximum value of the mastication force and the mastication energy, and is also capable of checking whether a denture is matched to a subject by detecting noises included in the output of the detecting element. In accordance with the invention, it is also possible to determine which teeth are not used during the mastication of food by attaching the detecting elements to both sides of a face and comparing the outputs from both detecting elements.

  • Patent number: 4882530
Abstract: In an all-phase de-energized state of the stepping motor, all motor windings having different phases are energized. After the all-phase de-energized state is detected, the motor windings are sequentially energized in accordance with predetermined phase energization patterns. Each of the energizations of the motor windings lasts for a given interval chosen to allow the stepping motor to generate a starting torque greater than a maximal load torque. After energizations of the motor windings corresponding to one cycle of the phase energization patterns are completed, durations of the energizations of the motor windings are gradually shortened to increase a rotational speed of the stepping motor.

  • Patent number: 4713494
Abstract: A multilayer ceramic circuit board and method of forming such circuit board are disclosed. The wiring pattern for the multilayer ceramic circuit board includes multiple-layer portions, the multiple-layer portions including first and second electrically conductive layers, respectively a tungsten layer and a copper thick film, for example, with a diffusion layer therebetween for improving adhesivity of the first and second electrically conductive layers to each other. Such multiple-layer portions are provided by providing first and second electrically conductive layers, and an intermediate layer between the first and second electrically conductive layers, and diffusing at least one component from the intermediate layer into both the first and second electrically conductive layers. Thus, a multilayer ceramic circuit board with, e.g., a firmly coupled tungsten layer and copper thick film can be provided.

  • Patent number: 4095368
Abstract: A toy prime mover has a hollow housing provided with a spring windup mechanism which can be wound up by a crank at the back of the housing and which has output shafts at the front of the housing, at the sides of the housing and at the bottom of the housing. Ground-engaging drive wheels are connected to the output at the bottom of the housing. A support plate can be connected to each of the shoulder joints surrounding each of the output members at the sides of the housing and each such support plate can carry a pair of large-diameter ground-engaging wheels that are driven via gears from the output member of the shoulder in order to allow the prime mover to displace itself over relatively rough terrain. A trailer may be connected to the back of the prime mover and has a ground-engaging steering wheel mounted on an arm carrying at its end a magnet. A wand also provided with a magnet can magnetically swing this arm to steer the prime mover without touching it.
