  • Patent number: 6465919
Abstract: A motor includes a rotor, a stator facing to the rotor, a motor-base-assembly for journaling the rotor and holding the stator. The motor-base-assembly is made of resin and includes a motor-base having openings and terminals made of metal. These terminals are inserted into the openings to be mated with the motor-base, and lower faces of the terminals are exposed from the bottom of the motor-base. This structure allows the terminals to be mated with the motor-base without using an insert-molding method, and permits high productivity of the motor. This advantage appears conspicuously in such a small motor, among others, as can be directly re-flow soldered to a board of a device. The device employing this motor enjoys high productivity and reliability because the motor can be directly re-flow soldered to the board of device.

  • Patent number: 6448528
Abstract: A pipe electrode holder for holding an elongated pipe electrode (6) having a relatively small diameter, the pipe electrode holder being coaxially attached to a rotating spindle (7) of a small hole electric discharge machine. The pipe electrode holder has a cylinder capable of fitting into the rotating spindle, the cylinder having a threaded upper end and a through hole (1a), and a collet (2) for gripping the pipe electrode having a through hole (2a) through which the pipe electrode may pass, the collet being fit into the through hole of the cylinder. A holder head (5) capable of adjusting the gripping force of the collet is not screwed to the lower end of the cylinder from which the pipe electrode extends, but to the threaded upper end of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6417589
Abstract: A motor includes (a) a stator having a stator core wound with a coil, (b) a rotor having a magnet facing the stator core via an annular space and a yoke disposed on an outer wall of the magnet, and (c) an unbalancing weight disposed on an outer wall of the yoke. This structure allows the motor to be small in size, light in weight, thin, flat and to function as a vibrating motor producing maximum vibration at low power consumption. The motor thus contributes to realizing a portable device with a small size, a low weight, and which is operable for many hours.

  • Publication number: 20020047369
Abstract: A motor includes a stator and a rotor facing the stator. The rotor has a magnet and an eccentric weight. The magnet is magnetized in a rotational direction and produces driving magnetic field. The eccentric weight is made of the material having a greater specific gravity than the magnet. The magnet shapes in a cylinder and a part of the cylinder is cut away to form a space. The eccentric weight is placed in the space. A rotational area of the magnet and that of the eccentric weight overlap each other. In this structure, rotation of the rotor spins the eccentric weight, thereby producing large vibrations. The eccentric weight is accommodated by a motor housing for the safety. The thin and compact motor is thus obtainable.

  • Publication number: 20020035990
Abstract: An evaporative fuel treating system is free from the problem that the number of opportunities for fault detection is reduced by the restriction on the timing for diagnosis, and capable of performing a fault diagnosis on the whole purge passage from a fuel tank to an intake pipe. After an atmospheric air inlet valve of a canister has been closed, the operation of a purge pump is stopped when the negative pressure in the fuel tank has reached a predetermined value as a result of the operation of the purge pump. At the same time, or immediately after the purge pump has stopped, a flow control valve provided on or near the intake pipe is closed. After a predetermined period of time has elapsed, a change in pressure in the fuel tank is detected, thereby inspecting the purge passage for a leakage. Therefore, a fault diagnosis can be performed irrespective of the engine operating conditions. Accordingly, there is no reduction in the number of opportunities for fault detection.

  • Publication number: 20010050843
Abstract: A heating element (IC, transistor or the like) is placed on a printed circuit board and silicon grease is coated on the surface of the printed circuit board side of the heating element. The projection portion of a radiator with a step portion is inserted into the through hole of the printed circuit board and closely contacted with the lower portion of the heating element through the silicon grease. As a result, heat generated from the heating element is transferred to the projection portion of the radiator through the silicon grease and then transferred to the entirety of the radiator. Excessive silicon grease is collected in a step portion provided at the base of the projection portion of the radiator and prevented from leaking to other portion such as a portion on the board.

  • Publication number: 20010033764
Abstract: A media discharging device for an ink-jet printer includes a rubber roller and star roller. A pair of paper guides are arranged on both sides, with respect to its rotary shaft of, the star roller, opposing each other and close to the star roller. Each paper guide has a slant which is inclined gradually upward in the paper discharge direction. This slant is positioned offset with respect to the path of movement of the projections on the star roller towards the paper discharge side, so as to prevent the rear edge of the recording paper from dropping into the recessed portions of the star roller.
