  • Patent number: 7579202
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for fabricating a light emitting diode element, which incorporates an epitaxial process with an etching process to etch LED epitaxial layers bottom up and form side-protrudent structures, whereby the LED epitaxial layers have non-rectangular inclines, which can solve the problem of total reflection and promote light-extraction efficiency. Further, the method of the present invention has a simple fabrication process, which can benefit mass production and lower cost.

  • Publication number: 20090079181
Abstract: A display device with a document holding function includes a main body and an elongated rod. The elongated rod, which is pivotally connected to an edge of the main body, is swiveled relative to the main body, and selectively lay against or perpendicular to the edge of the main body. A curved wall extends from the elongated rod. A curved clip is pivotally connected to the elongated rod, and rotatable to be selectively lay against or away from the curved wall. When the curved clip is lay against the curved wall, a document is clamped between the curved clip and the curved wall.

  • Publication number: 20080140232
Abstract: A method of indexing final pitching shots for each batter in a video recording of a baseball game is disclosed. The method includes locating pitching video frames in the video, identifying individual pitching shots contained in the video, determining which of the pitching shots is a final pitching shot for each batter in the baseball game, and creating an index of the final pitching shots.

  • Patent number: 7305128
Abstract: A video segmentation method for segmenting video clips according to content of the video clips is disclosed. The method comprises scanning pixels of video frames with a first horizontal scan line to determine if colors of the pixels fall within a predetermined color range; creating a color map utilizing pixels located on the first horizontal scan line from a plurality of successive video frames; labeling the current video segment as a candidate video segment if the color map indicates the presence of a stable region of pixels falling within the predetermined color range for a predetermined number of successive video frames; and performing histogram color comparisons on the stable regions for detecting shot transitions. Audio signals of the video clips may also be analyzed to further verify the candidate video segments.

  • Patent number: 6345885
Abstract: An ink-jet printhead and its manufacturing process therefor. The manufacturing process comprises the steps of: providing a substrate; forming a loop-shaped protection layer of a predetermined size over the central region of the substrate, the loop-shaped protection layer defining a predetermined area surrounded thereby; and forming an ink passage by sand blasting through the substrate on the predetermined area so that the ink within the ink cartridge can flow into the ink-jet printhead through the ink passage. Therefore, during the sand blasting process, cracking of the IC chip can be avoided because of the protection by the loop-shaped protection layer.

  • Patent number: 6286948
Abstract: An ink-jet cartridge with a negative pressure ink reservoir includes a rigid body provided with an ejecting device; an ink reservoir provided within the rigid body, the ink reservoir including two relatively movable plates and a plate body having resilience. The plate body is provided between the two flat plates, and is sealed with the circumferences of the two flat plates to form an enclosed ink reservoir. During ink-jet printing, the pressure within the ink reservoir decreases and the two plates move closer to each other to compress the plate body and the resilience of the plate body causes a negative pressure within the ink reservoir that prevents ink leakage from the ink-jet cartridge.
