  • Publication number: 20070298399
Abstract: An e-book allowing note and corrigendum sharing as well as differential update is produced using vector graphics satisfying XML syntax, and a script program is embedded in or linked to the e-book. The script program allows a user to add various kinds of note markups to the e-book, including fluorescent marker, text annotation, handwriting note, bookmark, digital blackboard record, post-it note, highlight, voice, memo, tracking information, etc. The e-book also allows an e-book editor to correct any error in the e-book. The note markups and corrigenda may be uploaded via network, and be shared among other users by way of differential update.

  • Patent number: 7127021
Abstract: A mechanism for dealing with faster clock speeds by increasing the pulse width of the pump-up and pump-down pulses of a Hogge-type phase detector without dividing the clock. In particular, the NRZ data stream is divided into two, interleaved data streams which are provided through two series of flip-flops. By connecting the exclusive-OR gates separately to the two series of flip-flops to generate the pump-up and pump-down pulses, a longer time between transitions can be achieved by having alternate transitions (up and down) used by the two different series of flip-flops. In addition, delay circuits are provided to compensate for the clock-to-data output delay of the flip-flops.

  • Publication number: 20050237166
Abstract: A vehicle anti-thief device includes an on-vehicle main unit, an on-vehicle bluetooth module, and a bluetooth mobile terminal to be carried by the user. When the user leaved the car, the on-vehicle bluetooth module receives no signal from the bluetooth mobile terminal and then drives the on-vehicle main unit into alarm mode. When the user with the bluetooth mobile terminal entered the communication radius of the bluetooth module, the bluetooth mobile terminal connects the on-vehicle bluetooth module wirelessly and gives a disarm signal to disarm alarm setting of the on-vehicle main unit.

  • Publication number: 20050222251
Abstract: Compounds of Formula I potently inhibit both cyclooxygenase-2 and carbonic anhydrases. Inhibition of carbonic anhydrases by a cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor may affect significantly the safety and efficacy profiles of such a dual inhibitor in the treatment of cyclooxygenase-2 mediated disorders, compared to a cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor without carbonic anhydrase inhibitory activity.

  • Publication number: 20050117673
Abstract: An apparatus for survivor path decoding in a Viterbi decoder with a constraint length of K. The apparatus of the invention includes a best survivor unit, a a register-exchange network, and a trace-back unit. The best survivor unit receives path metrics of 2K?2 local winner states from which a best state is selected every L iterations. Meanwhile, the register-exchange network generates decision vectors of survivor paths leading to 2K?1 states at instant i according to decision bits of all states from instant i?L to instant i. Every L iterations the register-exchange network outputs L-bit decision vectors for all states at instant i. Then the trace-back unit stores the decision vectors and finds a global survivor path sequence by following the decision vectors back from the best state at instant i?L. In this manner, L decoded bits can be output from the trace-back unit every L iterations.

  • Patent number: 6827950
Abstract: The present invention relates to Aralia extracts and a therapeutic agent comprising Aralia extracts as an active ingredient. The composition and therapeutic agent according to the present invention are effective in preventing cataract, delaying the development of cataract, and treating cataract. According to the present invention, extracts of Aralia are obtained by extraction with alcohol. Addition of myo-inositol or taurine to the extracts will result in a synergistic effect in the treatment of cataract. In addition, oral administration of beverages, galenicals, and nutraceuticals, which comprise Aralia extracts as an active ingredient, will be effective in prevention, delay and treatment of cataract caused by complications of diabetes. Aralia extracts will have the same effect in the case where they are used as an ophthalmic agent. They can also be used as an eye drop or an eye ointment.

  • Publication number: 20040132488
Abstract: There is provided a multi-mode communication system which is operable according to different operating modes, such as GSM and WCDMA. The multi-mode communication system includes first and second switching units, a delta-sigma modulator, an analog-to-digital converter, sequential convolution units and a selection unit. The delta-sigma modulator samples an analog signal, which is inputted through the first switching unit in one mode, into 1-bit digital signal. In another mode, the analog-to-digital converter samples an analog signal, which is inputted through the first switching unit into an n-bit digital signal. The sequential convolution units multiply filter factors with the output of the delta-sigma modulator, which is inputted through the second switching unit at the first mode, and multiply PN codes by the output of the analog-to-digital converter, which is inputted through the second switching unit at the second mode, to generate WCDMA output waveforms.

  • Patent number: 6744292
Abstract: A charge pump circuit with a small loop filter capacitor is disclosed in the invention. This is accomplished by providing multiple currents which add to the desired current, I. A switching circuit switches one of the currents through the capacitor, while directing a combination of the multiple currents through the resistors. In this way, a smaller current is provided through the capacitor, allowing the capacitor to be much smaller in size.

  • Patent number: 6694993
Abstract: An improved collapsible frame structure for use on an outdoor sunshade or parasol which is equipped with a minor extension arm coupled to a main runner of a main mast and a main extension arm in pivotal connection to a top retainer of the main mast at one end and to a lower end of a secondary stretching strut at the other end. The main extension arm and the minor extension arm are mutually coupled to each other at their middle points. The secondary stretching strut is further pivotally coupled to an extended pivot end of either the minor runner or the top notch of the sunshade or parasol so as to permit the sunshade to be extended in an easier and smoother manner when the main runner is pushed up or pulled down by a user.

  • Patent number: 6680605
Abstract: A current mirror circuit that uses only a single seed current, and thus only a single current source. A transistor biasing circuit is connected in between the single current source and the two transistors of the first leg of the current mirror. The transistor biasing circuit provides two functions. First, the source current itself flows through the transistors of the transistor biasing circuit to the two transistors forming the first leg of the current mirror. Second, the transistor biasing circuit biases the gates of the transistors in the current mirror so that the output transistors are at the onset of saturation.

  • Publication number: 20030177471
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for graphically developing an assembly program by use of a flowchart. Programmers conventionally develop programs by writing the programs in various programming languages, thereby increasing the program complexity and resulting in difficult understanding, maintaining and debugging for the programs. The present invention provides a way to develop an assembly program by a flowchart, avoiding directly writing it in a programming language, so as for the programmer as well as the maintainer to easily understand and read the developed program, and reduces the difficulty to develop and maintain the program.
