  • Publication number: 20050003814
Abstract: Upon receiving a beacon, a terminal B sends a RTS control message to a terminal A before sending a registration request message to the terminal A. Upon receiving the RTS control message, the terminal A sends a CTS control message. The terminal B measures the time from when the RTS control message is sent to when the CTS control message is received so as to calculate the distance with the terminal A. If the distance with the terminal A is within a predetermined distance X1, the terminal B sends a registration request message to the terminal A. Similarly, the terminal A measures the distance with the terminal B, and sends a registration request acknowledgement message to the terminal B when the distance with the terminal B is within a predetermined distance X2.

  • Publication number: 20040253943
Abstract: A terminal B, which is to enter a network, transmits a beacon including a network identifier and an operation mode of the terminal B. As the network identifier, the terminal identifier of a terminal that has issued an attribute certificate used for connecting the terminal B to the network can be used. Upon receiving the beacon, a terminal A checks whether the operation mode of the terminal A coincides with the operation mode contained in the beacon. The terminal A then sends an authentication request to the terminal B by providing an attribute certificate that matches the network identifier contained in the beacon.

  • Publication number: 20040235499
Abstract: A system and method for performing ranging and positioning as follows by using the procedure for packet transmission and reception between a sender and a recipient. A first radio set transmits packets to a second radio set as a recipient. The second radio set returns the packets without fail after the lapse of time (from the detection of packets) which corresponds to an integral multiple of a prescribed unit time. The first radio set counts, by using its counter, the time which has elapsed from its transmission of packets to its detection of packets from the second radio set. The remainder of the thus counted time after subtraction of the time taken by the second radio set from packet detection to packet return and the processing time of the first radio set itself is converted into the distance of propagation between the first radio set and the second radio set as a recipient.

  • Publication number: 20020105956
Abstract: A terminal acquires a network prefix of a network connected thereto, and determines whether that network prefix is identical to an initial network prefix. When the terminal determines that the two prefixes are different, the terminal reads the network prefix of each of a destination address and a source address in a received packet. When the read network prefix is different from the initial network prefix, the terminal substitutes the initial network prefix for the read network prefix, thereby generating a pseudo header. The terminal authenticates the received packet using the generated pseudo header.

  • Patent number: 5948358
Abstract: There is disclosed a washing device for use with an automatic biochemical analyzer using reaction containers. The washing device comprises a sucking portion and a draining tube. When the sucking portion is advanced into any one reaction container placed in position and is set in a given position, a communication passage is created between the inner wall surface of the container and the outer wall surface of the sucking portion and between the bottom surface of the container and the bottom surface of the sucking portion. During draining, the container is depleted of wash liquid. Outside air flows from the communication passage into the container through its opening at the top end at a flow rate more than a given value. The air flow blows away the water droplets adhering to the inner wall surface of the container. The blown water droplets are urged downward toward the sucking port in the suction portion. Then, the water droplets are discharged into a waste tank through the draining tube.
