    Abstract: A method and system for providing energy assisted magnetic recording (EAMR) heads are described. The method and system include providing a substrate, at least one EAMR transducer, an overcoat layer and at least one laser. The substrate has a leading edge and a substrate trailing edge. The EAMR transducer(s) reside in a device layer and on the substrate trailing edge. The overcoat layer includes a plurality of contacts. The device layer is between the overcoat layer and the substrate trailing edge. The laser(s) provide energy to the EAMR transducer. The overcoat layer is between the substrate trailing edge and the laser(s). The laser(s) are electrically coupled to at least a first portion of the contacts. The contacts provide thermal connection through the overcoat layer and the device layer. At least a second portion of the contacts is electrically insulated from the substrate.

The edge sensor detects a front edge and a rear edge of each sheet passing therethrough, and sends corresponding control signals to a system controller which delays a predetermined time according to the control signals to control the sheet processing unit to start and stop processing.

    Abstract: A secondary battery end cap assembly is extruded integrally, is provided on a cap plate and corresponds to a first perforation and a second perforation of the cap plate. The first perforation corresponds to a gas seal part of the end cap assembly and a side of the gas seal part is extended with a safety valve corresponding to the second perforation to release gas pressure, preventing the battery from being overly recharged that an interior of the battery is too hot and pressure increases, allowing the battery to explode to cause danger. The safety valve is made by a non-metallic material. Hence, a secondary battery end cap assembly is extruded integrally to effectively reduce manufacturing time and improve production efficiency. Furthermore, as the safety valve is penetrated and embedded by extruding a non-metallic material, gas tightness is enhanced without being unriveted and welding problems.

This flexibility allows the DSP to handle various types of signal processing operations and improves utilization of the available hardware. The DSP architectures further includes pipeline registers that break up critical paths and allow operations at a higher clock speed for greater throughput.

If the TIR prism is positioned out of the optical path, light from only the first light source is directed along the optical path. If the TIR prism is positioned in the optical path, light from only the second light source is directed along the optical path. Various measurement systems are also provided. One measurement system includes an optical subsystem configured to perform measurements of a specimen using light in different wavelength regimes directed along a common optical path. The different wavelength regimes include vacuum ultraviolet, ultraviolet, visible, and near infrared wavelength regimes.

    Abstract: A paper feeding device includes a pick roller, a spring element and a separator pad. The pick roller has a roller surface. The spring element is disposed above the pick roller. The spring element has two spring arms extending toward two ends of the pick roller. Free ends of the two spring arms extend to positions outside the two ends of the pick roller and below the roller surface so as to be contactless with the roller surface and are pushed forward and upward by papers and then transfer a press force to the pick roller. A separator pad is arranged in front of the spring element and contacts with the roller surface of the pick roller for cooperating with the pick roller to separate a lowermost one of the papers. Because the spring arms are contactless with the pick roller directly, so the spring arms do not rub the pick roller, which avoids the pick roller being abraded.

    Abstract: An optical scanning device with a dustproof function includes a shell defining a first receiving room and a second receiving room communicating with the first receiving room through an open window defined on the shell for scanning light beams passing therethrough. An optical scanning module is mounted in the first receiving room. A glass platform is located on the second receiving room at a position facing the open window for insulating the first receiving room from the outside of the shell. A correcting plate is stuck on the bottom of the glass platform. Such structure of the optical scanning device enables the glass platform to be firstly assembled with the shell in a dustless chamber, which prevents the suspending dust from falling in the first receiving room and attaching to the optical scanning module during the subsequent assembly process and ensures the scanning quality of the optical scanning device.

The array of patterned features is generally formed by removing select portions of the optically opaque layer to create transmissive regions, which only allow the light scattered from the defects to pass through. In one embodiment, the select portions of the optically opaque layer are removed with laser light.

The friction of a surface of the advancing roller, the friction of a surface of the retarding roller, the driving torque and the resisting torque are tuned to urge the retarding roller either into rotation while one signal document fed into a nip between the advancing roller and the retarding roller, or in standstill while multiple document fed into the nip.     Abstract: Demodulator architectures for processing a received signal in a wireless communications system. The demodulator includes a number of correlators coupled to a combiner. Each correlator typically receives and despreads input samples (which are generated from the received signal) with a respective despreading sequence to provide despread samples. Each correlator then decovers the despread samples to provide decovered “half-symbols” and further demodulates the decovered half-symbols with pilot estimates to generate correlated symbols. The decovering is performed with a Walsh symbol having a length (T) that is half the length (2T) of a Walsh symbol used to cover the data symbols in the transmitted signal. The combiner selectively combines correlated symbols from the assigned correlators to provide demodulated symbols. One or more correlators can be assigned to process one or more instances of each transmitted signal.
