Abstract: An image heating apparatus includes a heating member for heating an image on a recording material, a first temperature detecting element for detecting a first temperature of the heating member, a second temperature detecting element for detecting the second temperature of the heating member, wherein a thermal property of the second temperature detecting element differs from a thermal property of the first temperature detecting element, and a power supply controller for controlling the power supply to the heating member by utilizing the first temperature detecting element and the second temperature detecting element.

Abstract: It is an object to identify a failed portion in a circuit for image processing and notify a service center of the failed portion, thereby enabling the failed circuit to be promptly replaced. Circuit portions of image processing units are constructed on separate substrates. As processing routes of an image signal which is inputted from an A/D converting unit, a route in which the image signal passes through a given circuit portion and a route in which the image signal doesn't pass therethrough are set. Data of a predetermined pattern is processed by those processing routes. The presence or absence of a failure of each circuit portion is discriminated from the processing results. The discrimination result is transmitted to an external apparatus installed in a service center.

Abstract: Color image data is stored while being added with an attribute associated with a copy limit of image data in correspondence with a type or level of secrecy to be maintained (e.g., allowing only a specific person to make a full color copy, or to make any copy, of a particular image, or allowing only monochrome copies to be made of a specific image regardless of who is making the copy, etc.) When the color image data is output, an output mode is selected according to the designated type of secrecy to execute image processing and an image output operation, thereby maintaining the desired degree of secrecy of the color image.
