  • Patent number: 6409214
Abstract: An airbag inflator includes non-azide gas generating propellants, surrounding an ignition device, disposed inside a housing. The gas generating propellants are surrounded by a coolant/filter device having a pressure loss of 0.3×10−2 to 1.5×10−2 kg/cm2 at a flow rate of 100 l/min/cm2. A space is provided between an outer periphery of the coolant/filter device and the housing such that the combustion gas passes through the entire area of the coolant/filter device. The coolant/filter device is also surrounded by a swell suppressing layer which prevents the coolant/filter device from swelling due to a combustion of the gas generating propellants.

  • Patent number: 5907051
Abstract: A method of producing a carbonic diester involves allowing an alcohol to react with carbon monoxide and oxygen in the presence of a supported catalyst wherein the support is an activated carbon obtained from a vegetable or polymeric raw material, a support having an aluminum content of up to 2% by weight, or a support having sulfur content of up to 1% by weight.

  • Patent number: 5466856
Abstract: An alcohol, e.g. methanol, carbon monoxide and oxygen are allowed to react in a gas phase in the presence of a solid catalyst comprising a catalyst component, for instance, containing halogen and copper atoms supported on a solid support. The alcohol and carbon monoxide contents of the reactor feed gas are controlled at 1 to 20 volume % and 70 to 95 volume %, respectively. Because the alcohol and carbon monoxide contents of the feed reactant gas are thus controlled, side reactions are considerably inhibited and the object carbonic diester is produced with high selectivity.

  • Patent number: 5405986
Abstract: A catalyst for synthesizing a carbonic diester includes at least one copper compound selected from among copper oxides, copper hydroxides, a salt of copper with a weak acid consisting of the elements other than halogen such as copper borates, and complexes or complex salts consisting of the elements other than halogen and formed with copper or a copper compound a and ligand. The catalyst has a high activity, a high reaction selectivity and excellent stability with a minimal risk of corroding equipment. The catalyst can include, as a co-catalyst component, a platinum-group metal such as palladium or a halogen-free platinum-group metal compound such as palladium acetate. The catalyst component may be supported on a carrier, for example, an activated carbon. A carbonic diester is advantageously produced by allowing an alcohol to react with carbon monoxide and oxygen in the presence of the catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4476904
Abstract: A device for measuring a weft, particularly a drum type weft length measuring device for shuttleless looms is disclosed. The device is provided with a length measuring drum for coilingly winding a weft supplied from a weft supply bobbin and a pair of weft engaging pins for controlling a winding amount of the weft on the drum and a shift of the wound weft towards the weft drawing-out direction. The weft engaging pins are linearly movable in their own axial directions for protruding from and retracting into the drum, alternately. These protruding and retracting positions are shiftable in the axial direction of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4008511
Abstract: A taker-in under casing in a carding machine is disposed below a taker-in roller and between an under casing for a cylinder and a dish plate so as to extend along a portion of the lower peripheral surface of the taker-in roller. In order to vary the spacing between the taker-in under casing and the dish plate and/or the gauge between the taker-in under casing and the taker-in roller to thereby control the quantity and a quality of substances to be removed at the taker-in under casing, the latter is provided with a device for adjusting the position of the taker-in under casing, which is manually operable at the outside of the carding machine. The adjusting device has a first adjusting mechanism for causing the taker-in under casing to slide along the circumference of the taker-in roller, and a second adjusting mechanism for causing the taker-in under casing to pivot toward and away from the taker-in roller, these mechanisms being operable independently of each other.
