  • Patent number: 4434354
Abstract: A thermal printer has a circuit arrangement for extending a duty cycle of a thermal head as a battery voltage drops in order to maintain a record density at a constant level.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 11, 1982
Date of Patent: February 28, 1984
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventor: Shinichi Nakata
  • Patent number: 4352161
Abstract: An electronic calculator capable of displaying not only a value of a variable but also an answer to this value calculated in accordance with a program stored in the calculator. When the value of the variable is changed, an increment or decrement in it may be also displayed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 12, 1981
Date of Patent: September 28, 1982
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha

  • Patent number: 4217653
Abstract: An electronic time calculator is provided which includes numeral keys for receiving numerical data, region keys for receiving data of desired regions, an indicating circuit for indicating that the numerical data introduced by the numeral keys is to be processed as time data, and a converting circuit for converting the numerical data indicated as time data by the indicating circuit into time data for the region designated by the region key.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 12, 1978
Date of Patent: August 12, 1980
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha

  • Patent number: 4138734
Abstract: Electronic equipment capable of arithmetic operations displays operands, four function symbols, an "equal" symbol and results in various modes. According to one embodiment, a first operand, a function symbol, a second operand and a result with an "equal" symbol are displayed in the order named on two or three display panels. Alternatively, in order to reduce the power consumption, they may be displayed one at a time on one display panel. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the result of an arithmetic operation, the steps of which are displayed in the manner described above, is added to the contents of a so-called independent memory, and both the result and the new content of the memory may be displayed at the same time. In a further embodiment, the number of arithmetic operations executed may be displayed, and in accordance with a yet further embodiment, a result which overflows a display panel may be displayed on two display panels at the same time.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 19, 1977
Date of Patent: February 6, 1979
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventors: Shinichi Nakata, Reiji Hirano
  • Patent number: 4122513
Abstract: An electric power control arrangement comprises a voltage conversion circuit, a signal producing circuit for producing signals to enable the conversion circuit, and a voltage supplying circuit operative in response to the signals from the signal producing circuit for supplying a voltage to the voltage conversion circuit. The voltage conversion circuit may include a starting circuit operable in response to the output from the signal producing circuit. The power control arrangement may include a voltage regulator, which comprises a comparator for comparing the output of the regulator with a reference voltage to enable the starting circuit.
