  • Patent number: 6179884
Abstract: A layered sintered body for an electrochemical cell which is a planar-type layered sintered body composed of an electrode and a separator stacked thereon, wherein a plurality of gas flow passages are formed by coupling grooves formed on the electrode and the separator. Even when this electrochemical cell is subjected to repetition of a cooling-heating cycle, an increase of internal resistance on and around the boundary between the separator and electrode can be restrained and layer separation and development of cracks at the joint boundary can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6144463
Abstract: A facsimile machine is connected to another facsimile machine by a telephone line and to a computer by an exclusive line. The facsimile machine has a computer-linked mode and an ordinary facsimile mode. If the facsimile machine is in the computer-linked mode, the image data transmission between the facsimile machine and the computer is performed based on an instruction command from an operator of the computer. If the facsimile machine is in the ordinary facsimile mode, the image data transmission between the facsimile machine and another facsimile machine is performed in an ordinary facsimile transmission manner. When an instruction command comes from the computer, the facsimile machine sends a response signal (or message) to the computer in answer to the instruction command. Thus, the facsimile machine operates under the supervision of the computer. This improves the control reliability.

  • Patent number: 5711177
Abstract: A method of corrugating a metallic pipe which achieves an increase in the limit of tube expansion ratios. First, a heated part is formed by heating a local part of an outer periphery of a pipe in a circumferential direction by a high frequency coil. Next, the heated part is located within a forming surface of a forming die, and an axial compressive stress is applied to the pipe. Thus, the heated part is expanded while restricted by the forming surface. Therefore, even when the axial length of the heated part is increased, formability is stabilized and the tube expansion ratio can be raised.

  • Patent number: 5544653
Abstract: A radio frequency pulse to excite nuclei constituting an object to be imaged, a slice selecting gradient magnetic field pulse applied when the radio frequency magnetic field pulse is applied, a phase encoding gradient magnetic pulse, a frequency encoding gradient magnetic field pulse are applied to the object to be imaged placed in a static magnetic field. Then the generated nuclear magnetic resonance signals are detected many times to form an image of the internal structure of the object to be imaged using the detected signals. In this occasion, the amplitude of the slice selecting gradient magnetic field pulse or the width of the radio frequency pulse is changed corresponding to the amount of phase encoding given by the phase encoding gradient magnetic field pulse. In multi-slice imaging for detecting the signals from a plurality of slices spatially laminated, part of the signals are used in common between the slices adjacent to each other when two-dimensional images of those slices are reconstructed.
