The receiving member contacts an outer surface of the film tube above the transverse sealing mechanism and receives the articles A that drop through the inside of the film tube. The film supply unit has a film conveyance mechanism that conveys a first film so that a trailing end portion of the first film heads toward a film splicing position for splicing to a leading end portion of a second film, a first sensor detecting a mark on the first film, a second sensor detecting the mark at downstream, and a controller for the film conveyance mechanism. The controller judges, based on detection of the second sensor, that the trailing end portion of the first film has reached the splicing position and stops conveyance of the first film. The controller controls the conveyance mechanism so that the conveyance speed of the first film before the detection of the mark by the first sensor is faster than the speed after the detection.

    Abstract: A form-fill-seal machine is configured to adjust for changes in the thickness of bags within a short time, and is provided with seal jaws, gas removal members, an air cylinder, and a control unit. The seal jaws transverse-seal a cylindrical film in a widthwise direction forming a bag. The gas removal members come into contact against the bag prior to transverse sealing of an upper edge part, discharging a gas upward from the bag. The air cylinder moves the gas removal members, switching the position of the gas removal members between a first position and a second position with respect to the seal jaws. The control unit, in a time slot just prior to the start of a transverse sealing action performed by the seal jaws, changes the timing of switching between the first position and the second position, and adjusts the amount of gas discharged from the bag.

The control unit may cause the transverse sealing unit to ascend while the packaging material is being sealed by the first members. The control unit may cause the transverse sealing unit to move such that the first members are separated from the packaging material.

The cutting mechanism cuts the film tube at the transverse seal portion. The first sensor detects a mark on the film for identifying a cutting position for cutting the film tube. The second sensor detects a mark for specifying a printing position of the film where predetermined information is to be printed.

    Abstract: According to the machine tool according to the present invention, a top-bottom guide is attached to a back surface of a base frame. By being guided by this top-bottom guide, the lifter moves in the top-bottom direction with respect to the base frame. A drive source which drives rotation of a top-bottom feed screw which extends parallel to the top-bottom guide is attached to a back surface of the base frame. This drive source is coupled with a bottom end of the top-bottom feed screw. As a result, compared to when the drive source is coupled with a top end of the top-bottom feed screw, the center of gravity of the machine tool can be set to a lower position. In this way, a machine tool can be increased in stability.
