  • Patent number: 11248816
Abstract: An air conditioner which continues driving with a deteriorated gas leakage sensor is provided. An air conditioner of the present invention includes an outdoor unit including a compressor and an indoor unit connected with the outdoor unit and uses flammable refrigerant. The air conditioner includes: a refrigerant gas sensor; and a controlling unit configured to stop the compressor at occurrence of abnormality, when the refrigerant gas sensor detects refrigerant gas while the compressor is being driven. After the compressor is stopped as the refrigerant gas sensor detects the refrigerant gas, the controlling unit does not start driving of the compressor until an operation to cancel the abnormality is performed.

  • Patent number: 10527310
Abstract: When refrigerant gas leaks in an indoor unit, the leaked refrigerant gas locally accumulates in an area of the indoor space. This air conditioner includes an indoor unit having one or more outlets, and an outdoor unit connected to the indoor unit, wherein a flammable refrigerant or a mildly flammable refrigerant is used. The air conditioner includes a refrigerant gas sensor disposed in the indoor unit. When refrigerant gas is detected by the refrigerant gas sensor, a control is performed such that air is blown from the one or more outlets at a minimum air speed or higher, said minimum air speed being preset in accordance with the rated cooling capacity of the air conditioner.

  • Publication number: 20170336092
Abstract: A refrigerant gas sensor is typically attached so that an opening for introducing leaked refrigerant gas into the inside faces upward. With this arrangement, however, a small amount of a different gas such as propane and pesticide, which is sucked from the outside of an air conditioner, may be erroneously recognized as refrigerant gas. On this account, a refrigerant gas sensor 9 includes a detecting element 61 for detecting leakage of refrigerant gas and a casing member 62 provided to surround the detecting element 61. The casing member 62 has a casing opening (first opening) 62a through which the refrigerant gas is introduced into the inside of the casing member 62. The casing opening (first opening) 62a is below the detecting element 61.

  • Patent number: 6359724
Abstract: The present invention provides a light generation method and a light source that are preferable in obtaining a single-mode light having high outputs, a small wavelength spectral bandwidth, and a low intensity noise. A white output from a white-light source and having wavelength components over a wide-band in a wavelength spectrum passes through an isolator and is then filtered by a disc-shaped optical filter. A transmitted light is input to a semiconductor optical amplifier having its polarization plane regulated by a polarization controller. An output from the amplifier passes through an isolator and is then filtered by a disc-shaped optical filter again to generate a single-mode light having a small spectral bandwidth and high outputs. Polarization control by the polarization controller corresponds to control of the polarization plane of a semiconductor laser in the semiconductor optical amplifier so as to obtain a maximum gain from the amplifier.

  • Patent number: 6145335
Abstract: An indoor unit for air conditioners of the invention has a front panel (4) having a suction grille (41) at least at a central portion (4a). Indoor air is sucked in through gaps (42) of the suction grille of the front panel (4), and cooled air is blown out into a room (99) through an air outlet (8) located below the front panel (4). A lower portion (4b) of the front panel (4) opposed to a lower portion (3b) of the front grille in proximity to an upper portion of the air outlet (8) is shaped to have dips and bumps. As a result, dew condensations on the front face side of the front panel lower portion can be prevented without causing any cost increase.

  • Patent number: 5146262
Abstract: An auto focus camera produces a distance signal representative of the distance from the camera to an object being photographed. A first storage circuit stores comparative data to be compared with the distance signal, and a comparator circuit compares the distance signal with the comparative data. A second storage circuit stores lens extension amounts corresponding to the comparative data stored in the first storage circuit and outputs a lens extension amount corresponding to the specific comparative data selected by the comparator circuit. A focusing lens is positioned according to the output from the second storage circuit.

  • Patent number: 5128529
Abstract: An auto-focusing device includes a light emitting element for emitting an optical beam to be projected upon an object, an image position detecting element for receiving the optical beam reflected from the object for outputting an image position signal, and range computing circuitry for receiving the image position signal and computing therefrom the range to the object and outputting a corresponding range signal. First and second level deciding circuits decide whether or not the computed data based on the image position signal is at a level validating the computation of the range signal. The level deciding circuits output a remotest or nearer-than-remotest signal dependent upon the computed image position signal if the computed data from the image position signal is not validated. A lens position setting device sets a lens position from either the range signal, the remotest signal or the nearer-than-remotest signal in accordance with the decisions of the first and second level deciding circuits.

  • Patent number: 5060000
Abstract: A drive ring drivable by a stepping motor is normally urged by a spring to turn in one direction around a lens aperture. When not in use, the stepping motor is not subjected to the resilient force from the spring since the drive ring is locked against rotation by a ratchet wheel engaged by an engagement lever. The stepping motor is therefore not subjected to undue stresses and is prevented from malfunctioning. Consequently, focusing failures and exposure adjustment failures which could otherwise arise from malfunctioning of the stepping motor are prevented from occurring. In operation, a solenoid is energized to move the engagement lever out of engagement with the ratchet wheel, which is then freed to allow the drive ring to be turned by the stepping motor.
