  • Patent number: 7338980
Abstract: A piston pump has a piston and cylinder. A gas is supplied into the cylinder during and/or after a suction stroke of the piston pump, and a high-viscosity material is supplied into the cylinder after the suction stroke. A discharge stroke of the piston pump is effected after completion of supply of the high-viscosity material to thereby discharge the gas and high-viscosity material into a pipe. Use is made of piston pumps 45A and 45B, each including a cylinder and a piston which reciprocally moves within the cylinder to effect the suction stroke and discharge stroke, and a membrane gas generator 10 to which compressed air is supplied to generate a gas. A low-pressure gas generated by the membrane gas generator 10 is supplied into each piston pump and the high-viscosity material is introduced into the gas.

  • Publication number: 20070228015
Abstract: A lower arm is passed through a slot in a machining tank. The slot of the machining tank is provided with a seal section for sealing with a plate-shaped seal member. The movable table is moved by a servomotor. The machining tank and a workpiece are fixed on the movable table. At the seal section, a seal member on the machining tank side slides with respect to the plate-shaped seal member, thereby generating a sliding resistance. This sliding resistance increases as a sludge produced by electric discharge adheres to the seal section, thereby distorting the lower arm and influencing the machining accuracy. Accordingly, a load that acts on the servomotor is detected, and a sliding resistance load at the seal section is obtained. When a reference load is exceeded by the detected resistance load, arrival of the seal section at the timing for maintenance is displayed and notified.

  • Publication number: 20060237915
Abstract: A seal structure that channels drainage of machining fluid from the periphery of an opening for a lower arm of a wire-cut electric discharge machine. A seal structure that restricts flowage to the outside of machining fluid through the opening (slot) in a side of a machining tank has a first seal means and a second seal means (a seal plate) affixed to the first seal means so as to cover the opening. An unevenly shaped part including ridges and grooves extending in the long direction of the first seal means is formed on the first seal means, and passages are provided that communicate with the groove and the outside to channel the machining fluid drainage path. The first seal means may be composed of a plurality of members. The passages are provided by notches or through-holes formed in a ridge, or by through-holes extending from the groove to the exterior of the first seal means without passing through the ridges. Suction means that sucks up machining fluid draining from the passages may be provided.

  • Patent number: 6921876
Abstract: A method for adjusting the gap between an upper nozzle of a wire electric discharge machine includes placing a spacer member of a known thickness between a forward end of the upper nozzle and a workpiece. The forward end of the upper nozzle is brought into contact with the spacer member, so that the forward end of the upper nozzle is prevented from coming into direct contact with the workpiece. A Z-axis position of the upper nozzle is controlled on the basis of the thickness of the spacer member and the desired nozzle gap to set the gap between the forward end of the upper nozzle and the workpiece to a predetermined value. In controlling the Z-axis position of the upper nozzle, correction is made to compensate for a deformation of the upper guide, the spacer member, the workpiece, and the upper nozzle, and/or for a displacement of the upper guide resulting from a pressure of a working fluid.

  • Patent number: 6683269
Abstract: For maintenance and management of filters in a wire electric discharge machine, a sensor for detecting the filtration pressure is disposed between the filter and pump in the working fluid circulation channel. The sensor periodically senses the pressure and its output (transition of water pressure) is stored and sequentially displayed as a graph on a display device to allow monitoring of filter clogging by checking such sensor output at the time of commencing the processing.

  • Patent number: 6680430
Abstract: A speaker edge is made of a thermosetting composition consisting of a polyurethane prepolymer and an inactivated solid polyamine as a latent hardener. A gas is dispersed in the thermosetting composition, prior to feed into a mold, so that it can foam and solidify to give the speaker edge. In a method of making the speaker edge, the composition will be injected into a female mold segment heated below the critical thermosetting temperature, foaming the composition. Then placed in the female segment is a male segment heated above the critical temperature, causing the ingredients to react with each other to solidify in the mold.

A first step introduces a high-viscosity material into a gas, a second step pressurizes, by a pump, a combination of the high-viscosity material and the gas transferred from the first step, a third step passes the combination in a pressurized state through a dispersing pipe to disperse the gas into the high-viscosity material to produce a mixture, and a fourth step discharges the mixture to effect foaming.
