  • Patent number: 6228305
Abstract: A method for the production of a sunroof includes a step for applying adhesive into an edge section and a molding groove along the edge section of glass disposed accurately on a lower mold. A foaming material is applied in the molding groove at a peripheral portion of the glass outside the applied adhesive. The adhesive and the foaming material applied on the glass are molded by connecting the lower mold to an upper mold with a frame, and then heated a step of heating in a state in which the molds are pressed in a vertical direction. The lower and upper molds are detached, and a sunroof is discharged as a finished product.

  • Patent number: 5984280
Abstract: Low-pressure gas is mixed in a viscous material. The flow of the gas can be easily controlled so that the dispersion of the mixing ratio of the viscous material to the gas may be confined within a small tolerance and fine bubbles may be uniformly distributed in the interior of the viscous material. The gas is mixed in the viscous material by a first pump, from which a mixture of the gas and the viscous material is delivered. Pressure is applied to the mixture by a second pump. The gas is distributed in the interior of the viscous material by allowing the mixture under pressure to pass through a conduit assembly. The viscous material is foamed when the mixture is discharged from a nozzle through a discharge pipe.

  • Patent number: 5538369
Abstract: In a machine tool equipped with a numerical control unit for digitally controlling a spindle motor, the number of revolutions and feed speed of a spindle for rigid tapping are obtained by designating the number of revolutions and the tapping pitch from an input device and calculating the feed speed of the spindle by an arithmetic device based on the designated number of revolutions and tapping pitch. Alternatively, they are obtained by designating the tapping pitch from the input device, changing the number of revolutions by a number-of-revolutions changing device and calculating the feed speed of the spindle by the arithmetic device based on the designated pitch and the changed number of revolutions.

  • Patent number: 5086640
Abstract: A method of detecting breakage or breakage of a continuous bead of fluid material, for example, a coating material, during the discharge thereof from an applicator nozzle, which comprises the steps of providing the applicator nozzle with a vibration sensor operable to detect vibrations occuring in the applicator nozzle and to generate a vibration signal, indicative of the detected vibration. The vibration signal undergoes a change in level when the vibrations are actually detected by the vibration sensor and the change in level of the vibration signal is compared with a reference amplitude level. Only when the amplitude level of the vibration signal exceeds the reference amplitude level, the change in amplitude level of the vibration signal provides an indication of the actual occurrence of the vibrations in the applicator nozzle.

  • Patent number: 5085169
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for applying a paint, wherein elastic paint-coating means capable of being soaked with a paint are used. The paint-coating means are soaked with a paint and moved along the surfaces of an object to be coated with the paint while being pressed against these surfaces. The paint-coating means are mounted on the main bodies of paint-coating members, which are moved alternately to a first prescribed position where a paint-supplying means is disposed and to a second prescribed position where the object to be coated with the paint is disposed. When the paint-coating members are closed in the first prescribed position so as to hold the paint-supplying means between the paint-coating means, the paint-coating means are pushed against the paint-supplying means so that the paint may soak into the paint-coating means.

  • Patent number: 5066132
Abstract: An apparatus for inspecting a coating formed on a workpiece, comprising a light emitter and a light receiver positioned on respective sides of the workpiece; an amplifier for amplifying a detection signal from the light receiver and for generating an amplified output signal; a comparator for comparing the amplified output signal with a predetermined level thereby to generate a control signal indicative of a difference between the amplified output signal and the predetermined level; a zero adjustment for adjusting the amplified output signal to a zero value; and a tuning circuit for tuning the amplified output signal, which is generated from the amplifier when the workpiece to be inspected has not yet been formed with the coating, to a predetermined tuned value. The tuning circuit is operable to vary the amplification factor of the amplifier and also to the intensity of light emitted by the light emitter.

  • Patent number: 4954915
Abstract: An automatic cassette changer includes a large number of cassette storing racks in each of which a cassette is stored, a cassette transporter, and a recording and reproducing device. Automatic selective exchanging of cassettes between the cassette storing racks and the recording and reproducing device is performed by the cassette transporter. The changer has a sliding member that moves from a retracted position to an extended position and thereby moves a cassette pressing member from a retracted position to an extended position against the bias exerted by return springs so that a cassette stored in a cassette storing rack may be pushed out towards the cassette transporter by the cassette pressing member. However, the return springs avoid the possibility that a cassette stored in the cassette storing rack will accidentally jump out toward the cassette transporter and thus prevent accidental collision between the cassette and the cassette transporter.

  • Patent number: 4662564
Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle for injecting fuel into a diesel engine includes a nozzle holder having a hole defined therein in a direction transverse to the axis of the nozzle holder and opening into a spring chamber defined in the nozzle holder. An insulating member is fitted in the hole in a fluid-tight manner. In the spring chamber, there are disposed a spring seat remotely from a needle valve and supporting a spring for applying a spring force to close the needle valve, and a conductive body extending through the insulating member in a fluid-tight manner and having an end positioned between the spring seat and an inner wall surface of the nozzle holder. A pressure-sensitive element is fixed to the end of the conductive body and is actuated in response to the spring force applied thereto through the spring seat for producing an output signal which is fed out through the conductive body to thereby detect the timing of opening of the fuel injection nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4524914
Abstract: A pintle on the tip of the nozzle needle, which is disposed to be fitted through the nozzle hole of the nozzle body opening in a combustion chamber of an engine, has a conical portion. The conical portion extends along substantially the whole length of the nozzle hole when the nozzle needle has its seating portion seated on a valve seating portion of the nozzle body, and has a depth gradually decreasing toward the combustion chamber to define between itself and the nozzle needle an annular gap gradually expanding toward the combustion chamber. A portion of the pintle, which is substantially on a level with an end of the nozzle hole remote from the combustion chamber when the seating portion of the nozzle needle is in its seated position, has a diameter substantially equal to the inner diameter of the above end of the nozzle hole.
