    Abstract: A bicycle ergometer includes an eddy current brake having a rotor assembly including an iron material having a carbon content of 0.12% or less and a silicon content of 0.35% or less, a stator provided in the rotor assembly, a plurality of exciting coils provided on the stator, and a power source for energizing the exciting coils. The ergometer includes an input panel for inputting physical attributes of the user, e.g., age and sex, a pulse sensor for measuring the heart rate of the user at rest and during exercise on the ergometer, an arithmetic control circuit for calculating a training program and heart rate range and for controlling the eddy current brake to present a load to the user which will maintain the user's heart rate in a predetermined range. The method of using the ergometer enables a user to select a physical strength program and a weight reduction program with the selected program reflecting the age, sex, and the present physical condition of the user.

    Abstract: A collapsible body support structure is provided having a pair of parallel support legs, a transverse bar and a substantially U-shaped carrier frame. The transverse bar contains at least two bar sections pivotally connected together. The transverse also includes end portions, which are secured to the support legs. The substantially U-shaped carrier frame includes a bight arm formed of at least two carrier sections which are pivotally connected together and have a pair of parallel arms. The parallel support legs have end portions. Pivot supports are pivotally mounted on the upper end portions of the support legs for pivotal movement of the carrier frame between the stored position adjacent to the support legs and an extended position. Spring-biased stopper plates are pivotally connected to the support legs for retaining the carrier frame in the extended position.

A first rotatable hook plate is provided on a push-handle rod and is engageable and disengageable with a first lock pin, a second rotatable hook plate is provided on the push-handle rod and is engageable and disengageable with a second lock pin. A first operation lever is connected by a first wire to the first hook plate to rotate the plate and selectively engage and disengage the first lock pin. A second operation lever is connected by a second wire to the second hook plate to rotate the plate and selectively engage and disengage the second lock pin.

    Abstract: A caster is provided with a lock clip, which, when operable, joins the caster and a caster holder to prevent oscillatory movement therebetween. A first axle joins the caster body and the caster holder, the axle including a base frame at the bottom thereof which is receivable within the caster body.
