  • Patent number: 5962097
Abstract: A protective member for a semiconductor wafer wherein a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on a protective film is temporarily adhered to a separator comprising a reinforcing layer and a cover layer, through the cover layer. The separator of the protective member does not require a surface treatment with a release agent and in processing a semiconductor wafer, such as back-surface grinding, the protective film can be automatically peeled and is adhered to the semiconductor wafer via an automatic adhering apparatus to enable the desired processing.

  • Patent number: 5663284
Abstract: A copolymerized polyamide, comprising amide bonds formed by an aliphatic diamine with 4 to 14 carbon atoms and terephthalic acid, with the existence ratios of distributed respectively adjacent amide bonds satisfying the following formulae (A) and (B), and with the half-crystallization time satisfying the following formula (C).0.9.ltoreq.[XY]obs./[XY]calcd.<1.1 (A)0.9.ltoreq.[XX]obs./[XX]calcd.<1.1 (B)wherein X stands for an amide bond formed by an aliphatic diamine with 4 to 14 carbon atoms and terephthalic acid, and Y stands for any other amide bond than X. [XY] refers to the rate at which X and Y are adjacent to each other among all the amide bonds in the polymer structure, and [XX] refers to the rate at which X and X are adjacent to each other among all the amide bonds in the polymer structure. [XY] calcd. and [XX] calcd. are respectively the values of [XY] and [XX] calculated on the assumption that X and Y amide bonds are distributed statistically at random, and [XY] obs. and [XX] obs.

  • Patent number: 5510133
Abstract: A process is provided herein for producing a variety of reformed and cured herring roe mixed foods including "herring roe on kelp", "herring roe on shellfish" and "herring roe with kamaboko" by making the best use of the intrinsic binding ability of fresh herring eggs. In one embodiment, the process may begin by extracting ovaries from sexually-matured herring. Individual eggs are then singled out from the ovaries. The eggs are rinsed and cleaned. A perforate mold is then filled in single or multi-layers with any solid food or foods, e.g., kelp, fish, shell-fish, kamaboko, ham, sausage and/or cheese between the layers of eggs, to form a sandwich structure. The sandwich structure in the mold is then salt-cured, substantially to the saturation level. The salt-cured and solidified product is then removed from the mold.

  • Patent number: 5333314
Abstract: In a composite subsystem having a plurality of data base systems and data communication on a plurality of processors, a composite subsystem controller unifies other data base systems of the composite subsystem and distributed data base systems, and, at the occurrence of a fault in some subsystem, allows other subsystems to operate continuously, thereby facilitating the recovery after the faulty subsystem has started up, and makes management as to which data base system a transaction in execution has accessed so that the range of failure is confined, thereby facilitating the fault recovery. The check points of two processings including updating of information in the memory and accumulation of the updated information in the journal are detected so that the need of journals earlier than the check point is eliminated, and a check point dump is acquired without waiting for the end of transaction which has been active at the check point.

  • Patent number: 5329628
Abstract: A database system includes a database unit for storing a database, a managing processor and a processor. The managing processor manages the database unit and accesses the database unit in response to an inputted particular request. The processor internally generates a request in accordance with a user program, directly accesses the database unit in accordance with the generated request when the generated request is one of first predetermined requests, and outputs the generated request to the managing processor as a particular request when the generated request is one of second predetermined requests. Each of the second predetermined requests incurs a change in contents of the database, and the managing processor updates a log stored in a log unit in accordance with processing for the particular request.

  • Patent number: 5274809
Abstract: Task execution control for a multiprocessor wherein at a time point when a post issue task ends the use of a shared resource, the shared resource is released, another task which is running on another processor is allowed to lock the shared resource, and thereafter the task is made ready. After that, the post procedure is initiated, and thereafter through the high-speed dispatch procedure, the processor is granted first to a task which has failed to lock the shared resource, and the task is prompted to retry to lock the shared resource.

  • Patent number: 5225497
Abstract: An elastic polyester is continuously prepared by continuously supplying an aromatic polyester and a lactone compound into an extruder which has (A) a cylinder having a shape of 3.ltoreq.L/D.ltoreq.70 (where L represents the length of the cylinder and D represents the inner diameter of the cylinder) and (B) at least one screw and wherein (C) the occupancy ratio of the space in the inner volume of the cylinder in the screw-attached state is not larger than 70%, and reacting the aromatic polyester with the lactone compound while performing melting, delivery and kneading in the extruder, according to this process, the reaction time can be shortened, and an elastic polyester can be easily prepared at a high efficiency by simplified apparatus and operations. The obtained elastic polyester has an excellent durability represented by heat resistance and weatherability and has an excellent rubbery elasticity and mechanical properties.

  • Patent number: 5109511
Abstract: In a method of and a system for managing access to shared resource elements between processes subjected to parallel processing by use of a hash table under a multiprocessor environment or a multi-task processing environment, each of entries of the hash table pointer information indicative of a pointer to any one of the resource elements, counter information for holding the occurrence of registration into the hash table and counter information for limiting the number of times of search for has table entry, and the entry of the hash table is updated by an instruction which performs as inseparable operation of referring to a status variable on a main storage and updating the status variable in accordance with the value thereof. Thereby, the management of data suitable for high-speed access to a large quantity of data elements on the main storage can be performed with no lock operation under the multiprocessor environment or the multi-task processing environment.
