  • Patent number: 5517212
Abstract: A contrast adjustment circuit for a liquid crystal display which is connected, when to be used, to an electronic apparatus such as a computer. The contrast adjustment circuit comprises an adjustment voltage supply circuit provided in an electronic apparatus, a reference voltage generation circuit provided in the liquid crystal display for generating a reference voltage substantially equal in absolute value to a contrast peak voltage of the liquid crystal display, and an operational amplifier for comparing the reference voltage and an adjustment voltage and supplying a voltage difference between the reference voltage and the adjustment voltage to a driving voltage input terminal of the liquid crystal display.

  • Patent number: 5467811
Abstract: An austenitic stainless steel sheet is produced by a twin-roll synchronous continuous casting process wherein the sheet has a Ni segregation ratio in the vicinity of its center section of 0.90 or more and .delta.Fe.sub.cal. (mass %) is 6 mass % or more. Ni segregation ratio is defined by the formula: {average Ni content of the segregated portion (%) }/{average Ni content of the cast sheet (%)}; where Ni content is expressed in % by mass. .delta.-Fe.sub.cal. (mass %) is defined by the formula: 3(Cr+1.5 Si+Mo+0.5 Nb)-2.8(Ni+0.5 Cu+0.5 Mn+30 C+30 N)-19.8; wherein the chemical elements are given in % by mass.

  • Patent number: 5376195
Abstract: This invention relates to a austenitic stainless steel thin sheet devoid of work-surface roughening, produced by a continuous casting method of a strip comprising a composition which contains not greater than 0.09% of C+N and has an Md.sub.30 of 30.degree. to 60.degree. C., and in which colonies A comprising {112}<111>, etc., and colonies B comprising {110}<111>, etc., exist in a uniform mixture in the steel sheet. As to colony dimensions, d.sub.RD (A) and d.sub.RD (B) are not greater than 300 .mu.m and d.sub.TD (A) and d.sub.TD (B) are not greater than 200 .mu.m. Solidification cooling is carried out at a cooling rate of at least 100.degree. C./sec, and cooling is carried out to 1,200.degree. C. at a rate of 50.degree. C./sec after solidification. Cold rolling is effected by twice cold rolling with interposed intermediate annealing. In this way, there can be obtained a austenitic strip cast stainless steel sheet not causing work-surface roughening.

  • Patent number: 5146188
Abstract: A constant current circuit having an output current I.sub.2 which changes with the change of the power source voltage V.sub.cc, and an oscillating circuit whose oscillation frequency is made variable by the change of I.sub.2 in the constant current circuit. The constant current circuit comprises bipolar transistors coupled to form a differential amplifier, wherein one of the transistors is supplied with a reference voltage and another is supplied with a divided voltage of V.sub.cc, and a resistor connecting the emitters of the transistors is provided for controlling the slope of the V.sub.cc -I.sub.2 characteristic curve of the constant current circuit. The oscillating circuit comprises a capacitor charged with I.sub.2 and a switching circuit for discharging the capacitor when it is closed and a voltage detecting circuit operating to close or open the switching circuit according to the detection of the voltage at an end of the capacitor.

  • Patent number: 4910258
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a graft polymerization method to form a fluorine-containing graft copolymer which is useful as a soft and flexible fluororesin intermediate between fluororubbers and crystalline fluororesins. The graft copolymer is formed by polymerizing a fluorine-containing crystalline polymer, e.g. copolymer of CTFE and ethylene, in water in the presence of a reducing agent and a fluorine-containing elastomeric copolymer which comprises peroxy groups and is dispersed in the water to become the "trunk" of the graft copolymer. For example, the elastomeric copolymer is of vinylidene fluoride, CTFE and t-butyl peroxyallylcarbonate. An example of the reducing agent is sodium bisulfite, and optionally and additionally a source of a reducing metal ion such as ferric chloride may be used. This graft polymerization reaction can be carried out at a relatively low temperature, viz. at 20.degree.-50.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4560737
Abstract: A piezoelectric polymeric material in the form of sheet or film, which comprises polymers of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) as principle components. The piezoelectric material is essentially a mixture of 100 parts by weight of a VDF base resin, which may be either poly(VDF) or a copolymer, and 1-100 parts by weight of a copolymer of a fluoroelastomer and either VDF monomer or a monomer mixture containing a major amount of VDF monomer. A sheet or film having a high piezoelectric modulus is obtained by stretching a sheet or film of said mixture at an adequately elevated temperature and polarizing the sheet or film after or during the stretching thereby making the stretching sheet or film an electret.
