  • Patent number: 10021616
Abstract: Upon a determination that a relay backhaul link of a relay node is using excessive resources of a donor access node, wireless devices attached to the relay node are offloaded to other access nodes such as neighbor access nodes or to a different frequency band deployed by the donor access node or its neighbors. A donor access node transmits a congestion indicator to the relay node. The relay node transmits updated measurement parameters to end-user wireless devices connected thereto. An end-user wireless device reports back to the relay node in the event it measures a signal strength that is stronger than the current signal strength. This measurement event triggers a handoff of the end-user wireless device, thereby helping to alleviate the resource utilization of the air-interface of the donor access node.

  • Publication number: 20180192223
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described herein for determining distances and angles between speakers and other home theater components for performance of calibration operations and functions. Distances are determined through timing playback of sweep signals from a reference speaker to the speakers, and also by timing playback the sweep signals between the speakers and a capture device at a desired listening position. Angles between the speakers and other theater components are determined based on the distances, and locations or mappings of the speakers and other theater components are determined from the angles and distances. The locations/mappings are utilized to perform different calibration operations. The calibration operations improve the user audio experience for speakers that are located in non-optimal positions for speaker configurations.

  • Publication number: 20180191599
Abstract: The computer-implemented method for evaluation of migration of application to the cloud evaluates subject applications by executing an application discovery tool to capture application inventory data associated with the subject applications and to store the captured application inventory data. The method analyzes user-defined objectives for application cloud migration obtained via user interface and filters a set of predetermined Cloud Risk Probability (CRISP) categories based on user-defined objectives. The method determines a respective weightage to associate with each of the predetermined CRISP categories for each application. The method generates a CRISP score by applying the determined weightage of each of the set of predetermined CRISP categories in the application inventory data. The method determines respective application fitment scores for each application in the application inventory data based on the generated CRISP score and the historical application cloud migration data.

  • Patent number: 10015774
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for controlling paging by a radio access network (RAN), where the RAN provides multiple cells in which to serve wireless client devices (WCDs). In an example method, if the RAN determines that a WCD is configured to provide connectivity between at least one other device and the RAN, the RAN then pages the WCD using a first mode in which an initial page attempt of a sequence of page attempts is in just the WCD's cell of last registration and a subsequent page attempt of the sequence is in at least a wider region around the WCD's cell of last registration. Whereas, if the RAN determines that the WCD is not configured to provide such connectivity, the RAN instead pages the WCD using a second mode in which each page attempt of the sequence is in just the WCD's cell of last registration.

  • Publication number: 20180163595
Abstract: An SCR injection system for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. Under certain conditions, reductant fluid supplied by the system may form deposits in a reductant injector. In order to dissolve the deposits, a reductant supply line includes at least a portion with a downward slope that is disposed above a reductant inlet of the reductant injector. This allows reductant fluid in the sloped portion to flow to the reductant inlet due to gravity. Advantageously, a bent portion is provided between the reductant inlet and the sloped portion in order to trap reductant fluid that may flow back towards the reductant injector when the system is purged.
