  • Publication number: 20170123487
Abstract: A wearable system with a gestural interface for wearing on, for instance, the wrist of a user. The system comprises an ultrasonic transceiver array structure and may comprise a pico projector display element for displaying an image on a surface. User anatomical feature inputs are received in the form of ultrasound signals representative of a spatio-temporal cross-section of the wrist of the user by articulating wrist, finger and hand postures, which articulations are translated into gestures. Inputs from inertial and other sensors are used by the system as part of the anatomical feature posture identification method and device. Gestures are recognized using a mathematically-modeled, simulation-based set of biological metrics of tissue objects, which gestures are converted to executable computer instructions. Embodiments of the system disclosed herein may also be used to monitor biometric and health data over computer networks or using onboard systems.

  • Publication number: 20170120016
Abstract: An IV catheter system may have a catheter component with a catheter hub, a cannula extending distally from the catheter hub, and a push feature adjacent to the catheter hub. The IV catheter system may also have a needle component with a needle hub, a needle extending distally from the needle hub along an axis, and a grip extending from the needle hub, generally parallel to the axis, with a pull feature. In the insertion configuration, the needle may be positioned within the cannula and the distal end of the needle hub may be seated in a needle port of the catheter hub. In the fluid delivery configuration, the needle may be positioned outside the catheter hub. The push and pull features may be positioned to facilitate manipulation with a single hand to move the IV catheter system from an insertion configuration to a fluid delivery configuration.

  • Patent number: 9641166
Abstract: An apparatus and method for implementing a bootstrapped switching circuit having improved (i.e. faster) turn-on time is provided. In an embodiment, an inner switching loop is implemented in a bootstrapped switching circuit where the inner switching loop is configured to turn on an input switch in the bootstrapped drive circuit independent of the drive circuit output. The embodiment decouples the inner switching loop circuitry from the output drive circuit of the bootstrapped switching circuit, which typically has a larger load capacitance than the inner switching loop. This allows the inner switching loop to turn on the input switch in the bootstrapped switching circuit faster and decreases the turn-on time of the bootstrapped switching circuit.

  • Publication number: 20170116981
Abstract: A method of sharing informational data during an audio conversation between a user using a first device computer and at least one recipient is disclosed. The first device computer: converting audio of the audio conversation to text; identifying specific words or phrases in the text; and determining whether the specific words or phrases are a request for information from the user by a recipient. If the first device computer determines that the specific words or phrases are a request for information from the user by the recipient, the first device computer: searching for the information requested within a repository; if the information requested is present, determining whether the information requested is sharable with the recipient based on categorization of the information requested; and if the information requested is sharable based on categorization of the information, transferring the information to the recipient.

  • Publication number: 20170117503
Abstract: A buffer layer is provided that can be fabricated over an OLED without the use of any oxygen-containing gas. The buffer layer reduces the possibility of damage to the underlying OLED due to use of oxygen-containing materials during deposition of subsequent barrier layers, and thereby allows for deposition of barrier layers without reducing the flexibility of the device.

  • Publication number: 20170116115
Abstract: Techniques are provided for minimizing latency due to garbage collection in a distributed system. Time data is stored at a computing device. The time data indicates when each of multiple computing nodes (e.g., servers) in the distributed system might be performing (or is scheduled to perform) a garbage collection operation. The computing device receives a first request and, in response, determines, based on the time data, one or more computing nodes to process a second (e.g., related) request, which may contain identical content as in the first request. The second request is sent to the one or more computing nodes.

  • Publication number: 20170116638
Abstract: A/B experiment validation implementations are presented that generally validate an A/B experiment prior to its release. One implementation involves employing multiple test execution engines to test a A/B experiment, and then aggregating the results. More particularly, a request to validate an A/B experiment is received from a requesting entity along with data pertaining to the A/B experiment. A category of the A/B experiment is then determined, and test execution engines applicable to the A/B experiment category are identified. For each test execution engine identified, the A/B experiment data is passed to the test execution engine, the test execution engine is requested to execute a test for the A/B experiment, and test results from the test of the A/B experiment are received. Once test results are received from the identified test execution engines, the test results are aggregated to produce a validation indicator.

Stacking a frontal surface of a first strut segment at least partially behind a rear surface of a second strut segment in the delivery state. Aligning a sharpened tip of a first barb at least partially circumferentially behind at least one strut segment in the delivery state such that the sharpened tip is not radially exposed. Expanding the stent from the delivery state to a deployed state, wherein the first barb is exposed to a patient in the deployed state.

  • Patent number: 9632930
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to allocating a sub-area of Fiber Channel addresses (FCIDs) to a device. A range of addresses may be assigned to the device using a mask address, where the most significant bits represent a mask and the least significant bits represent a sub-range of FCIDs available to be assigned to the device. Therefore, routing information may be stored efficiently in a Ternary Content Addressable Memory (TCAM) by storing a single entry in the TCAM for each sub-area of FCIDs allocated to a device, instead of storing an entry for each FCID. The single entry may indicate the mask address and the width of the mask.

  • Patent number: 9629034
Abstract: A method and system to help avoid a failed eCSFB call setup in the presence of handover. While a WCD is being served by a base station of a first network, the base station may detect both a fallback trigger and a handover trigger. The fallback trigger may be a trigger to initiate a fallback setup procedure, where the fallback setup procedure involves execution of a sequence of steps including a particular step. The handover trigger may be a trigger to initiate a handover procedure. The base station determines that the handover trigger was detected before execution of the particular step of the fallback setup procedure. Responsive to determining that the handover trigger was detected before execution of the particular step, the base station (a) foregoes the fallback setup procedure and (b) transmits to the WCD a message directing the WCD to establish communication with the second network.

  • Patent number: 9629041
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system to help rectify errors in operation of a wireless communication system. When a base station detects one or more errors in operation of the system, the base station will automatically request and receive from an adjacent base station a set of one or more operational parameters that the adjacent base station is set to provide, and the base station will substitute the received operational parameters for those that the base station is set to provide to UEs. This process may thereby help to avoid recurrence of certain errors in operation of the system.

  • Patent number: 9629187
Abstract: A method and system for dynamically selecting call setup procedure based on channel quality. While a wireless communication device (WCD) is being served by a first radio access network (RAN), a network node receives an indication of a communication quality of the at least one channel used by the first RAN to serve the given WCD. Then, the network node selects a call setup procedure for establishing a call to be served by a second RAN based on the received indication of the communication quality of the at least one channel, where the selected call setup procedure comprises the given WCD transitioning to be served with the call by the second RAN. Next, the network node signals to invoke setup of the call using the selected call setup procedure.

  • Patent number: 9628282
Abstract: The device may receive user information associated with a user. The device may generate a user profile for the user that stores user information and authentication confirmation information. The device may provide a particular cryptographic key and information identifying the user profile. The device may receive a request to authenticate a secure session for a user device from an application server. The device may obtain, based on the user identifier, the authentication confirmation information associated with the user from a data structure storing one or more user profiles. The device may validate the particular response to the particular challenge code based on the authentication confirmation information. The device may provide information to the application server indicating that the secure session is validated for the user device based on validating the authentication information.
