  • Publication number: 20240273563
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for automated customer engagement prediction and classification. A server generates a feature vector comprising variables corresponding to historical user activity data for a user. The server encodes, for each feature vector, each variable in the feature vector into a corresponding weight-of-evidence value. The server transforms each encoded feature vector into an embedding in a multidimensional vector space. The server generates, for each user, a user engagement probability value by identifying embeddings of other users in proximity to the user embedding using a similarity measure and determining an engagement outcome for the identified embeddings. The server assigns each user to an engagement probability cluster based upon the engagement probability value for the user. The server generates instructions for a remote device to initiate communications to each user based upon the assigned engagement probability cluster.

  • Publication number: 20240268144
Abstract: A novel thin film encapsulated OLED panel architecture and a method for making the panels with improved shelf life is disclosed. The OLED panel consists of a plurality of OLED pixels; each OLED pixel is individually hermetically sealed and isolated from its neighboring pixels. The organic stack of the OLED pixel is contained within its own hermetically sealed structure, achieved by making the structure on a barrier coated substrate and using a first barrier material as the grid and a second barrier for encapsulating the entire OLED pixel. The first barrier material provides the edge seal while the second barrier disposed over the pixel provides protection from top down moisture diffusion. By isolating and hermetically sealing individual pixels; any damage such as moisture and oxygen ingress due to defects or particles, delamination, cracking etc. can be effectively contained within the pixel thereby protecting other pixels in the panel.

  • Publication number: 20240266960
Abstract: A power supply comprises: a first power module and a second power module each coupled to an interphase transformer; and a controller to: apply a first pulse train and a second pulse train to the first power module and the second power module to cause switching of the first power module and the second power module, respectively, to generate a current that flows through the interphase transformer to an output node; and control a phase difference between the first pulse train and the second pulse train by, during a startup period of the power supply, setting the phase difference to zero to cause concurrent switching of the first power module and the second power module that prevents an inrush of the current to the output node from saturating the interphase transformer.

  • Publication number: 20240260910
Abstract: Hydrocephalus and shunt-related expenditures cost the US system over $2 billion dollars in annual expenses, with 125,000 shunt surgeries per year and an untreated mortality rate estimated at 50-60%. Existing diagnostics are expensive, inaccurate, and often harmful or invasive, and can lead to unnecessary admissions, further testing, or needless surgery. Collaborative efforts between Northwestern materials engineers headed by Dr. John Rogers alongside the leadership of neurological surgeons at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Lurie Children's Hospital have produced and validated a noninvasive, thermal biosensor capable of diagnosing ventricular shunt malfunction.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for traffic classification that integrate a plurality of different types of traffic classifiers in parallel so that there is little or no adverse effects on data path performance. The systems and methods also integrate a plurality of complementary tiered classifiers to improve or enhance the results of a primary classification technique. Results from the individual parallel and tiered traffic classifiers can be analyzed to determine an output classification. The resulting output traffic classification can be used to determine a preferred or desirable link between nodes on a network where the network includes parallel links or network paths between the nodes. The disclosed systems and methods may be particularly advantageous where the different network paths have different characteristics such as latency, capacity, congestion, cost, bandwidth, etc.

  • Publication number: 20240257458
Abstract: A cross reality system that provides an immersive user experience by storing persistent spatial information about the physical world that one or multiple user devices can access to determine position within the physical world and that applications can access to specify the position of virtual objects within the physical world. Persistent spatial information enables users to have a shared virtual, as well as physical, experience when interacting with the cross reality system. Further, persistent spatial information may be used in maps of the physical world, enabling one or multiple devices to access and localize into previously stored maps, reducing the need to map a physical space before using the cross reality system in it. Persistent spatial information may be stored as persistent coordinate frames, which may include a transformation relative to a reference orientation and information derived from images in a location corresponding to the persistent coordinate frame.

  • Publication number: 20240258796
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for identifying behind-the-meter battery energy storage systems (BESS) in a distribution system includes measuring net power over a number of days via a meters at different locations in the distribution system. Using a time series of the measurement, a behind-the-meter BESS is detected by detecting flat intervals where the measured net power is substantially constant for a minimum continuous period, indicating BESS charge/discharge activity. If a BESS is detected, the time series data is used to detect first, second and third states that respective define net consumption, net generation and flat intervals indicating BESS charge/discharge activity. One or more eligible days are then determined that include a state change from the third state to the first state and a state change from the third state to the second. Intervals of BESS charge/discharge activity in the eligible days are extracted to evaluate a size of the detected BESS.
