  • Patent number: 10387435
Abstract: A plurality of category application queries can be processed, including identifying an associated list of results for each of the category application queries, with each list of results listing one or more applications. A cluster of the category application queries that each have a category in common in an application category stamp can be identified. A proximity graph for the category application queries in the cluster can be generated. The proximity graph can indicate similarity scores based at least in part on numbers of applications in common for lists of results associated with the category application queries in pairs of queries in the cluster. Lists each having one or more suggested alternative category application queries for category application queries in the cluster can be generated, with the generating of the lists of one or more suggested alternative category application queries being based at least in part on the similarity scores.

  • Patent number: 10386529
Abstract: A method for determining a level of organic maturity of a shale gas formation includes inverting multifrequency complex conductivity data to estimate a volume fraction of graphite, turbostatic carbon nanostructures, and pyrite. The inversion is validated using estimates of the volume fraction of graphite, turbostatic carbon nanostructures, and pyrite. The volume fraction of graphite and turbostatic carbon nanostructures is correlated to a level of organic maturity log of the shale gas formation. The level of organic maturity log is validated using sulfur content obtained from pyrolysis or vitrinite reflectance. A variation of an electromagnetic response due to the volume fraction of graphite, turbostatic carbon nanostructures, and pyrite is quantified. The electromagnetic response is modified by removing the quantified variation to obtain resistivity and permittivity values.

  • Patent number: 10384431
Abstract: A method for forming a substrate structure for an electrical component includes placing an electrically insulating laminate on a substrate and applying hot pressure to the electrically insulating laminate by a heatable plate. An average temperature of a surface temperature distribution within a center area of the heatable plate is higher than 80° C. during applying the hot pressure. Further, an edge area of the heatable plate laterally surrounds the center area and a temperature of the heatable plate within the edge area decreases from the center area towards an edge of the heatable plate during applying the hot pressure. A temperature at a location located vertically above an edge of the substrate during applying the hot pressure is at least 5° C. lower than the average temperature of the surface temperature distribution within the center area.

  • Publication number: 20190253286
Abstract: A continuous-time sampler has series-connected delay lines with intermediate output taps between the delay lines. Signal from an output tap can be buffered by an optional voltage buffer for performance. A corresponding controlled switch is provided with each output tap to connect the output tap to an output of the continuous-time sampler. The delay lines store a continuous-time input signal waveform within the propagation delays. Controlling the switches corresponding to the output taps with pulses that match the propagation delays can yield a same input signal value at the output. The continuous-time sampler effectively “holds” or provides the input signal value at the output for further processing without requiring switched-capacitor circuits that sample the input signal value onto some capacitor. In some cases, the continuous-time sampler can be a recursively-connected delay line. The continuous-time sampler can be used as the front end sampler in a variety of analog-to-digital converters.

Abstract: An apparatus may include a delta sigma modulator. A first portion of the delta sigma modulator may form a digital predictor while a second portion of the delta sigma modulator may form an analog approximator. An output of the analog approximator may be coupled with a quantizer. The digital predictor, the analog approximator, and the quantizer may form a digitizing loop configured to convert an analog input into a digital output. The digital predictor may be configured to generate, based on a polarity of one or more digital outputs from the quantizer, a digital prediction of an expected amplitude of the analog input. The quantizer may be configured to respond to the digital prediction by adjusting a dynamic range of the digitizing loop including by changing a quantization step size used by the quantizer to quantize the analog input. Related methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10365931
Abstract: Remote administration of initial computer operating system setup options is facilitated by systems and mechanisms that provide such initial setup options to a computing device during an earlier stage of the operating system setup. An administrator defines, in a profile, how such initial setup options are to be set and when an operating system is being set up it communicates with licensing servers to validate the copy of the operating system. If authorized, and if set up by an administrator, initial setup options are provided to the computing device at such an early stage of the operating system setup. Processes executing on the computing device then utilize software licensing application program interfaces to not only validate the copy of the operating system, but also to set the initial setup options in the manner pre-specified by the administrator. A customized directory service login user interface is one such initial setup option.
