  • Patent number: 7194119
Abstract: In a method and system for retrieving a medical image from a data base, an image processing algorithm is applied to a first medical image. The result of the applied image processing algorithm to the first medical image is compared with a plurality of results being stored in a data base. Each result of the plurality of results is the result of the image-processing algorithm being applied to each medical image of a plurality of medical images which is stored in the data base. Then, a second medical image belonging to the plurality of medical images is determined and retrieved from the data base, wherein the relevant result is comparable to the relevant result related to the first medical image.

  • Patent number: 7066883
Abstract: In a method and system for monitoring the course of therapy administered to a patient, at least one information value that requires a therapeutic and/or diagnostic measure and that is a direct or indirect measure of the course of the therapy is registered continuously or in time intervals, and at least one comparison value, to be compared to the information value or to a calculated value determined based on the information value, is allocated to the information value. An alarm signal is emitted given an impermissible deviation of the information value or of the calculated value from the comparison value and is detected in the course of the comparison. The comparison value is varied dependent on the course of the therapy and is adapted to the course of the therapy, the adaptation of ensuing automatically or by means of an authorized person or entity.

  • Patent number: 7020235
Abstract: In a method for generating a volume dataset of a subject with a first X-ray system having an X-ray source and an X-ray receiver and with a second X-ray system having an X-ray source and an X-ray receiver, the first X-ray system is rotated around an axis and sweeps a first angular range. Substantially simultaneously, a second series of 2D projections of the subject is acquired with the second X-ray system at projection angles differing from one another, by the second X-ray system being rotated around an axis and sweeping a second angular range differing from the first angular range. A volume dataset of the subject is generated from the first and second series of 2D projections of the subject acquired by the two X-ray systems.

  • Publication number: 20050251011
Abstract: A communication system connects clinical trial participants, managers, sponsors and associated systems and provides imaging-specific functions that enhance imaging systems. A patient clinical image data processing system includes an acquisition interface for acquiring patient medical image representative data from one or more sources. A processor automatically removes patient specific information from patient medical image representative data to provide patient non-specific medical image representative data and stores the patient non-specific medical image representative data. A communication interface communicates, via a network, the patient non-specific medical image representative data to a remote location.

  • Publication number: 20050228223
Abstract: A method is for obtaining medically relevant data from the gastrointestinal tract of a patient (human or an animal). The patient is orally administered with a transponder and signals emitted by the transponder during or after passage through the gastrointestinal tract are received, with the aid of a reading device for example. A measuring probe may be suitable for carrying out the method. The probe is designed as a transponder and includes a sensor unit for recording chemical, electrochemical or physical parameters.

  • Publication number: 20050182658
Abstract: A method is proposed for improving a clinical study. The method includes obtaining criteria for the clinical study, and comparing clinical data to the obtained criteria using a computer device. Thereafter, using the computer device, performance measures are derived based upon the comparisons. These derived performance measures are then usable to improve the clinical study. For example, these performance measures may be used for ranking, and consequently improving, the clinical study.

  • Publication number: 20050182663
Abstract: A method is proposed for examining a plurality of sites for a clinical trial. The method includes obtaining criteria for clinical trial and determining, using a computer device, how information regarding each of a plurality of clinical trial sites relates to the obtained criteria. Based upon the determinations, a plurality of the clinical trial sites are ranked. Thereafter, the ranked clinical trial sites may be reported to a sponsor of the clinical trial, and payment may be received.

  • Publication number: 20040102682
Abstract: In a method and a system for supporting the evaluation of a picture of a patient's eye the picture is displayed on a screen. An image-processing algorithm from a number of image processing algorithms is selected due to a preliminary diagnosis selected from a number of diagnoses which are related to diabetes. Each image-processing algorithm of the number of image processing algorithms is associated with a diagnosis of the number of diagnoses and is designed to search for a pattern which is specific to the respective diagnosis. The selected image-processing algorithm then is applied to the picture and a pattern which is detected by the selected image-processing algorithm is marked on the screen in the picture.

  • Publication number: 20030167186
Abstract: A computer-aided method is for documenting a medically insignificant finding. By way of example, a display device on the computer system is used to display an electronic form suitable for the documentation to a doctor. The doctor then need activate only a single input element on the computer system, so that the activated input element is used to complete the electronic form automatically using prescribed data which are stored on the computer system and associated with an insignificant medical finding. A computer-aided method is also for documenting a medical finding. For this method, a display device on a computer system is used to display an electronic form suitable for the documentation to the doctor, for example. When the electronic form has been completed using data associated with the medical finding, a single input element on the computer system is activated, and the activated input element automatically prompts performance of at least one action by the computer system.

  • Publication number: 20030074221
Abstract: In a method for a data processing facility to control and monitor the process sequence of a telemedical healthcare service which is to be provided. On the basis of at least one criterion, a service facility available for providing a particular subsidiary service of the healthcare service is automatically instructed by the central data processing facility to provide the particular subsidiary service. The central data processing facility then monitors whether the respective subsidiary service is provided and transmitted to the central data processing facility by the instructed service facility in good time on the basis of a time stipulation, and/or whether the respective subsidiary service provided satisfies a quality stipulation.

  • Publication number: 20030028400
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for checking whether a contract on a telemedical healthcare service can be effected between a service provider of the telemedical healthcare service and a customer. In the course of the method, a data processing device (4) of an agent undertakes inquiries with a customer in relation to a telemedical healthcare service. Thereupon, the data processing device (4) makes contact with a first database (5), which includes information on service offers from service providers of telemedical healthcare services, and checks whether a substantially corresponding service offer of a service provider can be assigned to the inquiry.
