  • Publication number: 20180143832
Abstract: Methods of encoding and decoding are described which use a variable number of instruction words to encode instructions from an instruction set, such that different instructions within the instruction set may be encoded using different numbers of instruction words. To encode an instruction, the bits within the instruction are re-ordered and formed into instruction words based upon their variance as determined using empirical or simulation data. The bits in the instruction words are compared to corresponding predicted values and some or all of the instruction words that match the predicted values are omitted from the encoded instruction.

  • Publication number: 20170314122
Abstract: A method is employed to separate a carbon structure, which is disposed on a seed structure, from the seed structure. In the method, a carbon structure is deposited on the seed structure in a process chamber of a CND reactor. The substrate comprising the seed structure (2) and the carbon structure (1) is heated to a process temperature. At least one etching gas is injected into the process chamber, the etching gas having the chemical formula AOmXn, AOmXnYp or AmXn, wherein A is selected from a group of elements that includes S, C and N, wherein O is oxygen, wherein X and Y are different halogens, and wherein m, n and p are natural numbers greater than zero. Through a chemical reaction with the etching gas, the seed structure is converted into a gaseous reaction product. A carrier gas flow is used to remove the gaseous reaction product from the process chamber.

  • Patent number: 9627788
Abstract: An electrical assembly is disclosed in which two flexible printed circuits are electrically joined. This allows greater lengths of flexible printed circuits to be provided, for example for gas turbine engine harnesses. Each flexible printed circuit has a terminating region having electrically conductive through holes that are connected to respective electrical tracks of the flexible printed circuit. The terminating regions are adjacent each other in the electrical assembly, and an electrically conductive pin is passed through the aligned through holes, then permanently bonded in position, for example by welding. This results in a robust, reliable connection of two flexible printed circuits.
