  • Patent number: 11917069
Abstract: Secure user authentication using a OTP involve pre-storing an application on a first device for generating a valid OTP for the user responsive to receiving entry of a valid PIN, no part of the valid PIN is stored on the first device and pre-storing on a back-end server the valid PIN and a valid shared secret for the user. Upon receiving entry of a purported PIN, a purported shared secret is dynamically synthesized on the first device by the application based on the purported PIN and a purported OTP is generated on the first device. When entry of the purported OTP is received by the server in an attempt to log on the server from a second device, the server cryptographically calculates a window of OTPs, and logs on to the server from the second device is allowed if the calculated window of OTPs corresponds to the received OTP.

  • Publication number: 20150184874
Abstract: We provided a dehumidifier with a temperature-sensing safety feature. The temperature probe is in direct contact with the discharge tube, as opposed to the industry standard of measuring temperature at the evaporator. In case the discharge tube overheats, it causes the resistance of the temperature probe to increase above a threshold value. The temperature probe then sends a signal to pause operation of the compressor. In a preferred embodiment, the compressor resumes operation when the temperature returns to normal, unless it overheats repeatedly. The temperature probe remains intact and may be used indefinitely. In preferred embodiments, the temperature-sensing safety feature is combined with a timing safety feature and/or a current-sensing safety feature.

  • Patent number: 8515032
Abstract: A voice message system records voice message usage information by creating voice message records when a voice message is sent and when it is received. The voice message record includes: the voice message, a voice message sender identity, a voice message recipient identity, and voice message action records. A voice message action records includes a voice message action that specifies an action on the voice message, and a voice message action time that includes the time at which the action occurs. Voice message actions include sent, received, and listened. The system further includes a voice message analyzer for analyzing voice message records, and a voice message reporter for generating reports from an analysis by the analyzer. The voice message system provides tractable information for voice messages, allowing companies to enforce a voice message usage policy.

  • Patent number: 7415519
Abstract: This invention is useful in a networked system with densely packaged servers or server blades. The servers are connected to a system management network, a communication network and an image server. A management module attached to the system management network and a network switch monitors and controls network booting from an image server on the communication network to prevent over commitment of network and image server resources in order to avoid a boot storm. The management module collects system information and calculates the number of servers or clients the networked system can boot at any one instant of time without burdening the system. The management module logic controls booting via the system management network and service processor elements, which can block server booting and release servers to boot when other servers have completed their boot process.

  • Patent number: 7350068
Abstract: A system remotely boots a plurality of server blades in a blade center to update each blade. A temporary network is created to provide an out-of-band communication channel between a management module and the plurality of server blades. The management module receives and saves the original boot sequence for each server blade and alters each boot sequence such that each server blade begins with a network boot. After receiving an initial transmission over the network containing server blade boot instructions and storing the boot instructions in a temporary boot server, subsequent server blade boot requests from the network are intercepted and the stored boot instructions are re-routed from the temporary boot server to each of the remaining blades in the blade server thus removing the need for repeated boot packet transmission over the network.

  • Publication number: 20080028201
Abstract: An aggregated server blade system includes a plurality of individual server blades and a management module which can be designated as a bootable device. A boot list maintained and executed in each server blade includes a management module entry in its list of bootable devices. In response to the management module entry being selected or otherwise made active as the bootable device for a particular blade, an alternative bootable-devices list maintained on the management module is referenced and the boot process proceeds according to the alternative list.

  • Publication number: 20080020861
Abstract: The present invention relates to golf clubs having a movable weight which may be used to adjust the center of gravity of the golf club head. The golf club may include a slidable weight movable to various positions along a slot between the heel and the toe of the club. The head may include a cavity shaped to receive an insert. In one embodiment, a slidable weight consisting of a screw and a weight which may engage with each other may be configured to move along the length of the insert. During assembly, the weight may be inserted into an opening in the end of the insert and slid along a close fitting channel running the length of the insert. The weight's position along the channel may be secured by engaging the screw and tightening down the screw with a portion of the insert secured between the screw head and the weight. The assembled insert and slidable weight may then be press fit into the cavity in the head.

  • Patent number: 7213102
Abstract: Secondary or augmented control of a storage array in a cost effective manner is accomplished by connecting a host to the storage array via a storage adapter independent of a RAID controller. The RAID controller provides primary control for services standard to the RAID controller. Augmented or enhanced services as well as backup control are provided by a control module executing on the host, communicating to one or more selected storage devices within the storage array via the storage adapter. In one embodiment, the control module detects faults or failures in the RAID controller, selectably directs storage commands to the RAID controller, emulates a storage controller including a RAID controller, and provides enhanced or augmented services such as conducting diagnostic, firmware update, or disaster recovery operations.

  • Patent number: 7197675
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the write delay time of a memory are provided. The apparatus includes a CPU, a memory, a north bridge chipset, a south bridge and a BIOS. The north bridge chipset, which is connected to the CPU and the memory, writes a pattern to the memory according to different write delay times. The BIOS reads the pattern stored in the memory, and checks the correctness of the read pattern to determine the common write delay time.

  • Publication number: 20070052799
Abstract: An image projection/display system (referred to generally herein as a “display system”) is provided to assist a pupil in speech development. The display system displays an image of a face viewed from the rear, as though the pupil were viewing a mask from behind. This “mask image” is projected in front of the pupil, and the mask image is manipulated to display proper lip, mouth, and tongue movement for a particular verbalization. Since the pupil is viewing the face on the mask image from behind, there is no need for the pupil to translate the lip, mouth, and tongue movements by reversing the left and right side. A tongue movement to the right on the mask image corresponds to a tongue movement to the right by the pupil.
