  • Publication number: 20220081778
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for increasing a corrosion resistance of a component formed with a magnesium-based alloy against galvanic corrosion, in particular micro-galvanic corrosion. According to the invention, an increase in a corrosion resistance against galvanic corrosion is achieved in a simple manner in that a surface layer of the component having a predefined thickness, which surface layer is formed with the magnesium-based alloy, is heated in order to configure the surface layer with a homogenized solid solution phase, whereupon the surface layer is cooled such that the surface layer is formed with a supersaturated solid solution phase. The invention furthermore relates to a corrosion-resistant component which is obtainable by a method of this type.

  • Patent number: 8454064
Abstract: An arrangement for fastening a bumper to a vehicle includes a deformation organ having one end for attachment to the bumper, and another end for sliding into a side member. The insertion section includes an inner wall which is stretchable when subjected to a tensile force. For elongating the inner wall, a material strip is received in a receiving space and equipped with a threaded breakthrough, which is aligned with a breakthrough of the adjacent transverse wall for receiving a tensile screw. The tensile screw extends through a breakthrough in a side member and exerts a force which elongates the inner wall. This initially provides a loose sliding-in of the insertion section in the side member and, following stretching of the inner wall, a tight seat of the insertion section in the side member.

  • Patent number: 7401825
Abstract: A bumper with an attachment member to be made thereon for the purpose of mounting the bumper onto longitudinal beams of a vehicle, is such that section walls acting as compressive and tensile struts and a pair of flanking walls joining them form a hollow section. The attachment member is in the form of a hollow section exhibiting at least one side wall and two transverse walls following on therefrom with a length of hollow section with the longitudinal beam. The hollow section is in the form of a push-fit length matching the inner cross-section of the longitudinal beam. The other end region of the attachment member is provided with collar-type parts projecting from their end edges and aligned approximately parallel to the transverse walls. In a use position, the collar-type parts of the attachment member are aligned with the flanking walls of the bumper and are releasably attached to it. The bumper is bolted to the collar-type parts of the attachment member.
