Patent number: 11928964Abstract: A parking availability predictor system provides a prediction of parking availability that meets a user's specified needs. When the user submits a query for parking availability, he can include desired parking criteria such as location, handicapped status, and desired time to begin parking. The system consults a parking occupancy model which gathers current and historical information about parking occupancy, including parking durations and durations of vacancies between occupancies. The model processes the gathered information into a statistical predictor of parking occupancy and vacancy. The system uses the predictor to predict when parking that meets the user's needs will become available. That prediction, including user-suitable parking locations along with the expected start of their vacancies, is then sent to the user in answer to his query.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2022Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Nikhil Dama, Laura Frisbie Evans, Christopher Ryan Haberland, Ting Lu, Simon Phillip Stolarczyk, Kristopher Thomas Williams

Publication number: 20230377025Abstract: A method of measuring parameters associated with a website comprising a complex hierarchy of web pages is described. The method is used for a website adapted to support a user journey through multiple web pages to a user destination. The user journey is defined as a sequence of functional steps. A machine learning system is provided which is trained to provide a website navigation system adapted to navigate from a landing screen to a destination screen by performing each functional step in the sequence. The website is then navigated from the landing screen to the destination screen for that website using the website navigation system. One or more parameters resulting from, or associated with, one or more steps of the journey from the landing screen to the destination screen for the website are measured. A computing system suitable for performing the method, and a method of building a suitable website navigation system are also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2021Publication date: November 23, 2023Inventors: Raghav Malik, Simon Phillips, Nigel John Raynor

Patent number: 11734669Abstract: A method of operating a payment-enabled mobile device to gain access to a location or a service. In an embodiment, a contactless front-end (CLF) component of a payment-enabled mobile device sequentially detects short-distance radio signals comprising at least two different polling signals, determines based on the sequence of the at least two different polling signals, that the payment-enabled mobile device is in proximity to a non-retail contactless transaction terminal, and then a payment application running on the payment-enabled mobile device bypasses a customary user verification feature. The process also includes the payment-enabled mobile device running the payment application performing a transaction with the non-retail contactless transaction terminal without invoking the customary user verification feature and then gaining access to at least one of a location or service.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2021Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: MASTERCARD INTERNATIONAL INCORPORATEDInventors: Ian David Alan Maddocks, Simon Phillips, Duncan Garrett, James John Anderson

Publication number: 20230237464Abstract: Various implementations described herein may relate to a system and method for providing transaction report data using a user device. In one implementation, a method may include receiving, at a token service provider (TSP), tokenization request data from a user device associated with a user, where the tokenization request data includes payment card data associated with the user. The method may also include generating a digital token based on the tokenization request data. The method may further include transmitting the digital token to the user device. The method may additionally include receiving transaction report data from the user device, where the transaction report data corresponds to a failed payment transaction performed using the digital token, the user device, and a merchant system. The method may also include generating failure data based on the transaction report data, where the failure data comprises alert data, failure report data, or combinations thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2022Publication date: July 27, 2023Inventors: James Christian Noƫ, John Tierney, Simon Phillips, Ian David Alan Maddocks
