In detail, the optical film according to the present invention includes an acryl-based substrate, a liquid crystal alignment film, and a liquid crystal film, the liquid crystal alignment film can maintain strong adhesion strength between the acryl-based substrate and the liquid crystal alignment film and between the liquid crystal alignment film and the liquid crystal film by further introducing a monomer having a functional group capable of performing crosslinking reaction to the photoreactive polymer.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a new dichroic dye having liquid crystal properties and dichroic properties and capable of being used for forming a polarization film with excellent heat resistance, durability, and polarizing properties, a composition including the same for a polarization film, a method for forming a polarization plate with excellent durability using the composition, and a polarization plate prepared thereby. The new dichroic dye has a structure of R1-L1-(M,L,D) (where, D is a dichroic structure, M is a structure with liquid crystal properties, R1 is a reactive end functional group, and L and L1 are linking structures). The composition for a polarization film includes the dichroic dye. In the method for forming the polarization plate, the composition for a polarization film is applied to a substrate and cured to prepare the polarization plate. The polarization plate has excellent dichroic ratio, heat resistance, durability, and polarizing properties.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a homeotropic alignment liquid crystal film without an alignment layer and a method for preparing the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a homeotropic alignment liquid crystal film without using a separate alignment layer to induce a homeotropic alignment of the liquid crystal in which a liquid crystal layer has a homeotropic alignment property by coating a polymerizable and reactive liquid crystalline mixture solution including a predetermined surfactant on a plastic substrate whose surface are hydrophilic-treated, and drying and UV irradiating the mixture solution; a method for preparing the same. The homeotropic alignment liquid crystal film prepared according to the present invention may be very useful as a major component of a viewing-angle compensation film and a retardation film, etc. in LCD, and has advantages of simplicity of the manufacturing process, its shortened manufacturing time, its mass production, etc.
