  • Patent number: 12051277
Abstract: A multi-sensor input device includes multi-color lights to illuminate a user's hand with various colors of light including visible and infrared, as well as sensors including a photodetector, a red-green-blue (RGB) camera, and an infrared camera. During operation, sensor data generated by the sensors may represent non-biometric input such as a barcode that is printed or shown on another device's display, biometric input such as images of surface and subcutaneous features of the user's hand, and so forth. The biometric input may then be processed to identify the user. The input device also includes antitamper features to improve security. The input device may be used at various locations, such as at an entry portal, point of sale, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 12051080
Abstract: A method and system for virtual environment-based interfaces applied to selected objects from video directs a system's focus of attention to an image within a first video stream and identifies an object in the image by applying a trained neural network. In response to a communication from a user comprising language and/or images describing a virtual environment, a second trained neural network is applied to generate a second video stream that embodies the identified object within a virtual environment that is in accordance with the user-described virtual environment. The second video stream is then delivered to the user. The system's focus of attention and/or generation of the virtual environment may be informed by user preferences that are inferred from user behaviors.

  • Patent number: 12052652
Abstract: Wireless dynamic file exchange is provided by, in response to a triggering network condition occurring, initiating an exchange of a parameter file including non-layer two content via a 802.11 message, such as a Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) message between an access point (AP) and a station (STA) connected to the AP; and in response to determining that the exchange was unsuccessful, terminating a connection between the AP and the STA. The parameter file may be sent over several messages and update the parameters for a new session or an existing session. Devices that do not conform to the updated parameters may be disassociated from the AP and re-connect to receive and implement the updated parameters.

  • Patent number: 12052225
Abstract: In one embodiment, a data sharing platform performs a series of data operations to provide different types of data via different sharing services of the data sharing platform that are derived from data shared by a particular data owner. The data sharing platform generates tag data associated with the particular data owner for one or more of the series of data operations. The data sharing platform determines, based on the tag data, an attribution chain that links the data shared by the particular data owner to the different types of data provided via the different sharing services. The data sharing platform sends an indication of the attribution chain for display.

  • Patent number: 12051589
Abstract: Thin tin oxide films are used as spacers in semiconductor device manufacturing. In one implementation, formation of spacers involves deposition of a tin oxide layer on a semiconductor substrate having multiple protruding features. The deposition is performed in a deposition apparatus having a controller with program instructions configured to cause sequential contacting of the semiconductor substrate with a tin-containing precursor and an oxygen-containing precursor such as to coat the semiconductor substrate having the protruding features with a tin oxide layer. Next, tin oxide film is removed from horizontal surfaces, without being completely removed from the sidewalls of the protruding features. Next, the material of protruding features is etched away, leaving tin oxide spacers on the semiconductor substrate.

  • Patent number: 12050207
Abstract: An apparatus and methods for evaluating the radial compressive strength of ceramic honeycomb samples. The apparatus includes a housing defining a testing compartment. A pressure subsystem is configured to introduce a pressurizing fluid into the testing compartment. A flexible member is in fluid communication with the pressure subsystem. The flexible member defines a testing area within the testing compartment configured to receive the ceramic honeycomb sample. The flexible member expands inwardly and subjects the honeycomb sample to a compressive force by engaging against the outer surface of the honeycomb sample when pressurized by the pressurizing fluid. An end cap covers an end face of the ceramic honeycomb sample when the ceramic honeycomb sample is positioned in the testing compartment. An acoustic sensor disposed on the end cap is configured to translate acoustic waveforms propagating through the acoustic sensor to a signal representative of the acoustic waveforms.

  • Patent number: 12051240
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus that can predict the visible-infrared band images of a region of the Earth's surface that would be observed by an Earth Observation (EO) satellite or other high-altitude imaging platform, using data from radar reflectance/backscatter of the same region. The method and apparatus can be used to predict images of the Earth's surface in the visible-infrared bands when the view between an imaging instrument and the ground is obscured by cloud or some other medium that is opaque to electromagnetic (EM) radiation in the visible-infrared spectral range, approximately spanning 400-2300 nanometres (nm), but transparent to EM radiation in the radio-/microwave part of the spectrum. Regular, uninterrupted monitoring of the Earth's surface is important for a wide range of applications, from agriculture to defence.
