    Abstract: Systems and methods for rinsing beverage residue from a mechanical interface between threads of a bottle and threads of a bottle cap is described. The bottle cap may include a sealable coating to create a seal against a rim of the bottle. The bottle cap may also include passages to allow pressurized water to be injected into an upper inner region of the bottle cap. The pressurized water is prevented from entering the bottle due to the seal between the rim of the bottle and the sealable coating of the bottle cap. Therefore, the pressurized water is caused to escape through the mechanical thread interface toward a lower inner region of the bottle cap where the water escapes from the cap at atmospheric pressure.

    Abstract: The repair of shift cable ends in various motor vehicles without the replacement of the entire shift cable is accomplished using a specialized bushing that operably couples the shift lever and shift cable end. In particular embodiments, the shift cable end is seated in an installation tool and a specialized bushing is inserted into the shift cable end by applying a compressive force to the bushing and the installation tool. The installation tool is removed and the shift lever is inserted into the bushing. The bushing has a coupling means to simulate the factory installed coupling mechanism, a securing means for maintaining the bushing's alignment and securing it within the shift cable end, and a pressure-relief means for relieving pressure within the bushing as the lever is inserted into the bushing. In some embodiments, the hushing has a compression means for allowing the bushing to be easily compressed into the shift cable end without deformation.

    Abstract: A battery system may include multiple battery cells grouped into modules. Each battery module may have a diffuser plate to direct the hot gases and molten material that are ejected during cell failure. The gas and material may be directed away from the nearest neighboring cells in the event of a single cell thermal runaway. Residual thermal energy is wicked away, absorbed or contained to keep heat away from the neighboring cells. These and other features may manage the blast energy and residual thermal energy of a single cell failure event. This may prevent a cascading failure of the larger battery system, thereby mitigating the risk of injury to personnel and property.
